R (i) TORQUE the screws (3), (4) and (5) as follows:
R - the screw (3) to between 0.102 and 0.124 m.daN (9.02 and 10.97
R lbf.in)
R - the screw (4) to between 0.203 and 0.226 m.daN (17.96 and 19.99
R lbf.in)
R - the screw (5) to between 0.316 and 0.362 m.daN (27.96 and 32.03
R lbf.in).
R (j) Put the cable (8) in position under the clamp block (6) and
R TORQUE the clamp screw (7) to between 0.023 and 0.045 m.daN (2.03
R and 3.98 lbf.in).
R (k) Install the cable ties (1), as necessary, to attach the cable (8)
R to the probe (11).
R (2) Installation of the probe 54QT1 (54QT2):
R CAUTION : REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU_______
R CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.
R INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO

R (a) Install the bracket (18) on the probe (16).
R (b) Put the probe (16) in the correct position and loosely install
R the bolts (17) and the nuts (19).
R (c) Loosely install the bolts (14) and the washers (13).
R (d) Measure the clearance between the structure and the top and
R bottom of the probe (16). Make sure that the clearance is a
R minimum of 7.00 mm (0.2755 in.).
R NOTE : When a probe is installed, a minimum clearance of 7.0 mm____
R (0.2755 in.) is recommended. (A clearance of less than 7.0
R mm (0.2755 in.) but more than 5.0 mm (0.1968 in.) is
R acceptable, if local installation does not allow the
R recommended clearance)
R (e) To prevent possible static discharge, maks sure that the fuel
R probe is not less than 5.0 mm (0.1968 in.) from:
R - the nearest structure
R - rib and tank wall
R - pipework
R - brackets and p-clips
R - fasteners and other metal parts.
R (f) TORQUE the bolts (14) to between 0.45 and 0.56 m.daN (39.82 and
R 49.55 lbf.in) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-002).
R (g) Tighten the bolts (17) and the nuts (19) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-
R 002).
R (h) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
R (i) Identify and connect the electrical connectors of the cable (8)
R to the temperature sensor (11) with the screws (12) and (15).
R (j) TORQUE the screws (12) to between 0.102 and 0.124 m.daN (9.02 and
R 10.97 lbf.in).
R (k) TORQUE the screws (15) to between 0.203 and 0.226 m.daN (17.96
R and 19.99 lbf.in).
R (l) Put the cable (8) in position under the clamp blocks (9).
R (m) TORQUE the clamp screws (10) to between 0.023 and 0.045 m.daN
R (2.03 and 3.98 lbf.in).
R (n) Identify and connect the electrical connectors of the cable (8)
R with the screws (3), (4) and (5).
R (o) TORQUE the screws (3), (4) and (5) as follows:
R - the screw (3) to between 0.102 and 0.124 m.daN (9.02 and 10.97
R lbf.in)
R - the screw (4) to between 0.203 and 0.226 m.daN (17.96 and 19.99
R lbf.in)
R - the screw (5) to between 0.316 and 0.362 m.daN (27.96 and 32.03
R lbf.in).
R (p) Put the cable (8) in position under the clamp block (6) and
R TORQUE the clamp screw (7) to between 0.023 and 0.045 m.daN (2.03
R and 3.98 lbf.in).
R (q) Install the cable ties (1), as necessary, to attach the cable (8)
R to the probe (16).
