You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.

Put the safety barriers in position.
(3)
Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.

Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

Put the access platform in position below the applicable access panel 147AZ (148AZ).

A. Removal of the Center-Tank-Fuel-Quantity-Probes
CAUTION : MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU
_______ DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Cut the cable ties (7) and (8). Remove all the cut cable ties from the tank and discard.
(2)
Disconnect the electrical cables (3) from the probe (2) and put blanking caps on the electrical cables (3).
NOTE : Probe 39QT also has CIC connections.

Hold the probe (2) and remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5) and, for probes 35QT and 36QT, the nuts (6).
