R  (3) Safety open the spring-loaded surge door 540AZ (640AZ) with the HOOK-
R  COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) (98D57004013000). 
R  (4) Safety open the spring-loaded surge door 540BZ (640BZ) with the HOOK-
R  COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000).

R  A. Removal of the Wing-Tank Fuel-Quantity Probe 
R  (1) Removal of the probe 21QT1 (21QT2) 
R  FOR 21QT1, 21QT2 
R  (Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 28-42-15-991-004) 
R  CAUTION : MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU_______ 
R  DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE 
R  DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. 
R  (a) Remove and discard the cable ties (1) to release the electrical 
R  cable (8) from the probe (11). 
R  (b) Loosen the terminal screw (7) on the terminal block (2). 
R  (c) Loosen the screws (3) (4) and (5) on the terminal block (2). 
R  (d) Identify and remove the electrical connectors of the cable (8). 
R  (e) Remove the bolts (10) and the washers (9). 
R  (f) Remove the bolts (12). 
R  (g) Remove the probe (11). Remove the bracket (13) from the probe 
R  (11).

R  (d) Identify and remove the electrical connectors of the cable (8). 
R  (e) Loosen the clamp screws (10) on the temperature sensors (11). 
R  (f) Loosen the screws (12) and (15). Identify and remove the 
R  electrical connectors from the temperature sensors (11). 
R  (g) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (13). 
R  (h) Remove the nuts (19) and the bolts (17). 
R  (i) Remove the probe (16). Remove the bracket (18) from the probe 
R  (16). 
R  (3) Removal of the probe 23QT1 (23QT2), 56QT1 (56QT2), 25QT1 
R  (25QT2)...... 
R  FOR 23QT1, 23QT2, 56QT1, 56QT2, 25QT1, 25QT2, 26QT1, 26QT2, 27QT1,
