(1) For the left control valve (4), remove the pneumatic manifold (AMM 36-11-01/401).

Remove the control valves:
(a)
Disconnect the EEC electrical connector (6) from the control valve (4). 1) Install protection caps to the EEC electrical connector (6)
and the receptacle on the control valve (4).
(b)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 75-91;
Disconnect the air signal tube from the adapter (11).
(c)
Remove the hose clamp (8) which attaches the cooling air hose
(7) to the control valve (4).
(d)
Disconnect the cooling air hose (7) from the control valve (4).
(e)
For the left control valve (4), remove the bolt (16) and nut (15) that attach the No. 3 bearing breather tube to the bracket (14).
(f)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 73-164; For the right control valve (4), disconnect the bracket (15) from the cover (9) with the steps that follow: 1) Remove the two bolts (1) and washers (16) that attach the
bracket (15) to the cover (9). 2) Move the bracket (15) away from the control valve (4) with the harness attached to it.
(g)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-52; For the left control valve (4), remove the bolt (22) and the nut (24) that attach the clamp (23) of the trim-line oil tube (21).
(h)
For the right control valve (4), remove the control valve (4) from the engine with the steps that follow: 1) Remove the bolts (5) which attach the control valve (4). 2) Remove the control valve (4) and the gasket (3) from the
HPC case.
a) Discard the gasket (3).
(i)
ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 79-52; For the left control valve (4), remove the control valve (4) from the engine with the steps that follow: 1) Remove the bolts (5) which attach the control valve (4).

2) Remove the control valve (4) and the gasket (3) from the HPC case. a) Discard the gasket (3).
(j) ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-52; For the left control valve (4), remove the control valve (4) from the engine with the steps that follow: 1) Remove the bolts (5) which attach the control valve (4) and
the bracket (20).
2) Remove the control valve (4), the bracket (20) and the gasket (3) from the HPC case. a) Discard the gasket (3).
(k) Install a protection cap on the HPC case pad.
