(b) Remove the relay valve from the bracket.

If it is necessary to replace the relay valve, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the three adapters and gaskets from the relay valve. 1) Discard the gaskets.

Remove the protection caps.

If it was necessary to replace the relay valve, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Lubricate the threads of the three adapters with engine oil.
(b)
Install the three adapters with the gaskets to the threaded ports of the relay valve.
(c)
Tighten the largest adapter to 150-170 pound-inches (16.9-19.2 newton-meters).

Tighten the middle adapter to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6 newton-meters).
(e)
Tighten the smallest adapter to 65-75 pound-inches (7.3-8.5 newton-meters).

(3) Install the relay valve.
(a)
Put the relay valve on the bracket with the adapters up.
(b)
Lubricate the threads of the three bolts, which attach the relay valve, with engine oil.
(c)
Attach the relay valve to the bracket with the three bolts and nuts. 1) Tighten the bolts to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
newton-meters).

(4) Install the solenoid for the 2.9 bleed valve (AMM 75-32-04/401).
