 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE ACTUATOR ROD FULLY EXTENDED WHEN YOU
 INSTALL THE BELLCRANK RIG PIN.  IF YOU LET THE ACTUATOR ROD
 RETRACT, YOU WILL NOT GET AN ACCURATE CHECK.  A BAD RIGGING CAN
 CAUSE A DANGEROUS STABILITY AND EFFECTS ON THE LENGTH OF LIFE.
 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THAT THE END OF THE RIG PINS ARE CORRECTLY AND FULLY
 INSTALLED.  IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE

 COMPRESSOR STATOR VANE CONTROL SYSTEM.
 (6)  Adjust the rod end bearing of the actuator with the steps that follow:
 NOTE: You must remove the PWA 86344 holder when you adjust the rod
____ end bearing. You must install the PWA 86344 holder again to install the bellcrank rig pin.
 (a)  
With the hydraulic pressure on, adjust the rod end bearing until you can put the bellcrank rig pin (PWA 86097) into the rig pin slot of the bellcrank arm and into the two holes of the support.

 (b)  
Remove the bellcrank rig pin and the PWA 86344 holder.

 (c)  
Lock the rod end bearing to the actuator rod with the jamnut.

 1)  Tighten the jamnut to 460-510 pound-inches (52.0-57.6 newton-meters).

 (d)  
If you use the electrical switch box, push the actuation switch on the electrical switch box to retract and extend the actuator rod through it full movement. 1) Do this step a minimum of three times. 2) Stop with the actuator rod fully extended.

 (e)  
If the electrical switch box is not used, operate the stator vane system with the steps that follow: 1) Put the control handle of the hydraulic cart in the neutral


 position. 2) Turn the valve handle for the air supply to the closed position (perpendicular to the flow).

3) Install a crowsfoot and wrench on the flats of the bellcrank. 4) Push up on the wrench to move the system to the closed position.
 NOTE: Move only enough to approximately align the
____
 position slots on the bellcrank.

 5) Remove the crowsfoot and wrench. 6) Operate the hydraulic cart to supply 250-300 psi hydraulic pressure to the PF port.
 NOTE: The actuator is extended against the internal stop.
____
 7)  Do these steps one more time.
 (f)  With the actuator rod fully extended (vanes open), install the bellcrank rig pin in the rig pin slot of the bellcrank arm and the two holes of the support. 1) If you cannot install the bellcrank rig pin, do the rod-end
 adjustment again.
 2)  If you can install the bellcrank rig pin, do the steps that follow: a) Remove the bellcrank rig pin and PWA 86344 holder. b) Lock the jamnut and the rod-end bearing with the key
 washer. c) Bend one set of the tabs on the rod-end bearing. d) Bend the other set of the tabs on the jamnut. e) Install the lockwire and seal.
 (g)  
Tighten the nut for the bellcrank clevis bolt to a minimum of 15 pound-inches (1.7 newton-meters) plus the torque necessary to turn the nut on the bellcrank clevis bolt.

 (h)  
Continue to tighten the nut until the slot in the nut aligns with the hole in the bellcrank clevis bolt. 1) You must not have a torque more than 22 pound-inches (2.486


 newton-meters) plus the torque which is necessary to turn the nut on the bellcrank clevis bolt.
