Push the STAT button on the EICAS display select panel.
(a)
Make sure the status page shows on the auxiliary EICAS.
(b)
Make sure the applicable FUEL SPAR VLV 1, 2, 3, or 4 status message does not show.

For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and install the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

4) 6G2 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
5) 6G16 SCU ALT PWR ENG 2
6) 6G24 ENG SCU 2
7) 6G3 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 3
8) 6G17 SCU ALT PWR ENG 3
9) 6G25 ENG SCU 3
10) 6G4 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 4
11) 6G18 SCU ALT PWR ENG 4
12) 6G26 ENG SCU 4

(5) Open the right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Open the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Procedure
S 024-060-N00
(1) Remove the variable stator vane actuator:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connectors (17 and 18) from the actuator (7). 1) Install the protection caps.
(b)
Remove the bolt (19) which attaches the ground cable (20) for the actuator (7).
(c)
Put the container below the actuator (7) to catch the remaining fuel.
(d)
Disconnect the tube nuts which attach the servo fuel supply tube (10), servo fuel return tube (11), and drain hose (13) to the actuator (7).
(e)
Remove the drain tube (29) below the actuator (7) with the steps that follow: 1) Put the container below the drain tube tee. 2) Disconnect the tube nut (28) at the forward tee connection
for the drain tube. 3) Remove the screw (31), nut (32), and washer (33) which
attach the drain tube clamp (30) to the bracket. 4) Disconnect the tube nut from the union (34). 5) Remove the drain tube (29) from the engine.
(f)
Remove the cotter pin (2), nut (1), washer (3), and shoulder bolt (4) which attach the rod end bearing (5) to the bellcrank. 1) Discard the cotter pin (2).
(g)
ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 72-498; Remove the cotter pin (23), nut (24), bolt (25), and bearing stop (27) from the two sides of the support bracket for the actuator (7).
