(2) Connect the hydraulic cart:
(a)
Install the tool adapter (PWA 29451) to the actuator adapter in the PF port.
(b)
While you hold the actuator adapter, tighten the tool adapter to 225-250 pound-inches (25.4-28.2 newton-meters).
(c)
Install the hydraulic pressure hose (A) to the tool adapter.
NOTE: If it is necessary, use a standard 45 degree or 90
____ degree adapter or elbow on the end of the hose.
(d)
Install the hydraulic return hose (B) to the adapter in the PFR port.
(e)
While you hold the adapters, tighten the nuts on the hoses (A and B) to 200-225 pound-inches (22.6-25.4 newton-meters).
(f)
Remove the hose attached to the top of the pump reservoir.
(g)
Examine the level of fluid in the pump reservoir.
(h)
If it is necessary, fill the pump reservoir to the top with the fluid.
(i)
Install a cap to the end of the hose attached to the top of the pump reservoir.
NOTE: This hose is not used on the PW4000 engine.

(3) Connect the Electrical Switch Box:
NOTE: If the electrical switch box is not available, you can do a
____ check without it. Do not do these steps if you do not have the electrical switch box.
(a)
Disconnect the W4P3 and the W5P7 harness connectors from the stator vane actuator. 1) Install the protection covers to the connectors.
(b)
Install the electrical lead from the electrical switch box to the top receptacle on the stator vane actuator with the mark J7.

(4) Operate the hydraulic cart and fully extend the actuator rod (vanes open) with the steps that follow:
(a)
Prepare to operate the hydraulic cart: 1) Put the control handle to the neutral position (center). 2) Turn the hydraulic valve handle to the closed position
(perpendicular to the flow). 3) Turn the valve handle for the air supply to the closed position (perpendicular to the flow). 4) Turn the smaller adjustment knob clockwise until it stops.
(b)
Connect the air source to the air inlet.

(c)
Turn the valve handle for the air supply to the open position (parallel with the flow).
(d)
Lift and turn the larger adjustment knob clockwise to increase the air pressure to 25-30 psi.
NOTE: The pump ratio is 1 to 10 (30 psi air equals 300 psi
____
hydraulic).
(e)
Turn the hydraulic valve handle to the open position (parallel to the flow).
(f)
Slowly turn the smaller adjustment knob counterclockwise until the air motor turns.
NOTE: The smaller adjustment knob controls the speed of the
____ actuator and the time to go back to normal after the operation.
With the control valve in the neutral position, the hydraulic pressure on the gage will be 0 psi.
(g) Put the control handle on the hydraulic cart to the advance position (towards the hoses).
NOTE: Hydraulic pressure to the PF port of the stator vane
____
actuator is 250-300 psi.
The actuator piston rod is fully extended at this time (vanes open).

(5)
If an electrical switch box is available, operate the stator vane system with the electrical switch box.
(a)
Push the power switch on the electrical box to the on position.
(b)
Push the actuation switch on the electrical switch box to the retract position (vanes closed) to retract the actuator rod.
(c)
Push the actuation switch on the electrical switch box to the extend and retract positions a minimum of three times to operate the actuator. 1) Stop the actuator rod in the fully extended position.
