Prepare to Remove the Solenoid for the 2.9 Bleed Valve


 S 864-002-N00
 (1)  For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and install the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6G1 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1
 2) 6G15 SCU ALT PWR ENG 1
 3) 6G23 ENG SCU 1

 (2)  Open the right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

 WARNING:_______ DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
 OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER.  THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF
 THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO

 EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  
Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 S 014-039-N00

 (4)  
Open the right core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).


 S 014-055-N00 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU OPEN THE
_______ THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (5)  
Open the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201). S 014-004-N00

 (6)  
Remove the fan exit liner segment at the No. 3 position (AMM 72-34-03/401).

D.  Procedure
 S 024-063-N00
 (1)  Remove the solenoid for the 2.9 bleed valve:
 (a)
Disconnect the EEC electrical connectors from the solenoid.

 1)  Install the protection caps to the electrical connectors and the receptacles on the solenoid.

 (b)  
Remove the bolts, nuts, and spacer which attach the air supply tube for the 15th-stage and the signal tube for the stability bleed valve.

 (c)  
Disconnect the tube nuts which attach the air supply tube to the manifold tee to the rear of the solenoid and to the center adapter on the stability bleed pneumatic relay valve.

 (d)  
Remove the air supply tube from the engine.

 1)  Install the protection caps on the openings of the air supply tube, manifold tee, and adapter.

 (e)  
Disconnect the tube nuts for the air supply manifold for the 15th-stage and signal tube for the start bleed valve from the aft end of the solenoid.

 (f)  
Remove the bolt and nut which attach the wire harness clamp of the EEC speed transducer (N1) to the signal tube of the stability bleed valve.

 (g)  
Disconnect the tube nut for the forward signal tube of the stability bleed valve from the aft adapter on the stability bleed pneumatic relay valve.

 (h)  
Disconnect the tube adapter from the tube nut for the aft signal tube of the stability bleed valve.

 (i)  
Remove the forward signal tube for the stability bleed valve.

 1)  Install the protection caps on the openings of the adapter and signal tube.

 (j)  
Remove the servo pressure tube with the steps that follow: 1) Disconnect the servo pressure tube from the adapter at the bottom of the solenoid.


 2)  Disconnect the servo pressure tube from the forward adapter on the stability bleed pneumatic relay valve.
