 (4)  Flight Plan Selection
 (a)
The route pages can be accessed from the POS INIT or POS REF pages, by pressing line select key 6R (ROUTE>).

 (b)
The RTE pages provide a way of entering flight plan routes into the FMC. The operator can create a list of horizontal navigation waypoints that will make up the planned route in either of two ways: Entry of a company route identifier; or Manual entry of each waypoint and interconnecting path.

 (c)
Entire routings may be selected from the navigation data base by entry of a company route number into the scratch pad, then pressing line select key 2L. 1) When the company route number has been entered into the RTE

PAGE, an ACTIVATE prompt will appear on the display. Pressing line select key 6R then the EXEC key activates the displayed route.

 (d)

A complete list of waypoints is displayed with leg direction (course or heading) between the waypoints. 1) A DATA page select prompt is provided to enter and review

 additional leg data.
 2)  The RTE DATA page acts as an extension of the RTE LEGS function. It provides continuously updated information on the predicted arrival time at any waypoint in the flight plan route. In addition, this page provides a place to enter forcast winds at various waypoints. A LEGS page select prompt is provided for return to the RTE LEGS page.
 (e)  Manual Route Entry
 1)  The operator can use knowledge of the intended route to directly enter origin and destination airports. The origin and destination airports can be entered by the keyboard or the DEP/ARR function can be utilized, to select and automatically transfer this information into the route.
 2)  Once the operator has entered an airport for the origin and destination, the remainder of the lateral plan can be entered. When the route waypoints are entered, the FMC searches its navigation data base, to confirm the waypoints existence. The FMCS will accept any route information, providing it is also available from the FMC navigation data base.
 (5)  Performance Initialization
 (a)  The performance pages can be accessed from the active route (ACT RTE) pages, or accessed by pressing the INIT/REF key and line selecting 3L PERF.

The PERF INIT page provides the means to enter airplane and atmospheric parameters. The FMCS requires these parameters to compute its vertical profile targets.

 (c)
The required entries for this page are: GROSS WT/ZFW, ISA DEV/T/C OAT and CRZ ALT.

 (d)

 (e)
Once the required data has been entered, the operator may exit

the page or continue to enter additional or revised data.Takeoff Reference Initialization
