 H. Performance Data Base
 (1)  The systems performance data base is contained in the permanent program memory of the FMC. It consists of:
 (a)  
A detailed aerodynamic model of the airplane. The aerodynamic model includes basic high-speed drag polars, a buffet limit envelope, and stored values of the airplanes certified operating limits. The aerodynamic model also includes speed and altitude capability data that are required to support the adjustment of performance computations, for engine-out operating conditions.

 (b)  
A fuel flow and thrust model for the type of engine installed on the airplane. The model is used during computations of fuel flow, thrust, engine limits, and target values. Also the model is used for corrections due to the affects of air-conditioning, anti-icing, and air bleeds.

 6.  EFIS Interface (Fig. 8)______________
 A.  The Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) receives FMCS navigation data in ARINC 429 format. The EFIS control panel (EFIS CP) allows the operator to select the mode and range to be displayed on the Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI).
 B.  The EHSI displays FMC data in four formats (Fig. 9): NAV, MAP, CTR MAP and PLAN. The format displayed depends upon the mode selected on the EFIS CP.
 (1)  
Plan Mode

 (a)  
This mode is primarily used to construct and display the FMC flight plan.

 (b)  
The upper portion of the EHSI displays track (or heading), distance and estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the next waypoint.

 (c)  
The portion of the EHSI below the azimuth tape displays the flight plan data, and will be presented in a north up orientation.

 

 (2)  
NAV Mode


 (a)  This mode is used to display navigation information in a manner similar to an analog HSI presentation. The following FMCS navigation signals are displayed on the EHSI: 1) Track
 a)  Track is the direction the airplane is presently moving with respect to magnetic north, and is displayed on the EHSI by a track line which extends from the airplane symbol to a triangular shaped symbol positioned along the azimuth card.
 2) Desired Track a) FMCS desired track is displayed on the EHSI, by the course arrow read against the azimuth card. 3) Cross Track Deviation
 a)  The course deviation bar indicates the deviation from the desired track. The course deviation bar is read relative to the course deviation scale.
 4) Waypoint Bearing and Waypoint Identifier
 a)  The waypoint bearing pointer displays bearing to the next waypoint along with the identifier for that waypoint.
