C. Prepare for FMCS BITE Test

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the BAT switch on the Pilot's Forward Overhead Panel is in the ON position.

Set the STANDBY POWER switch on the Pilot's Forward Overhead Panel to the AUTO position.

Make sure the LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LIGHTS circuit breaker on the P6 panel is closed.

Use the Master Dim and Test switch to make sure the indicator lamps and annunciator lights operate correctly.

Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
(a) P18 Panel
1) CDU No. 1
2) CDU No. 2 (when installed)
NOTE: On airplanes with provisions for dual FMC, FMCS CDU
____ (ANCDU, MCDU) No. 2 circuit breaker will be on the P6-1 panel.
3) FMC (or FMCS CMPTR)
4) MODE ANN
(b) AIRPLANES WITH DUAL FMC;

ú (1) Do these steps to examine the FMC software:
ú (a) Make sure the CDU display shows the IDENT 1/x page.
ú 1) AIRPLANES WITH FMC P/N 10-62225-XXX AND SOFTWARE UPDATE 7
ú AND SUBSEQUENT;
ú If the CDU shows OP PROGRAM INVALID, do the operational
ú program installation (AMM 34-62-01/201).
ú 2) If the CDU display does not show the IDENT 1/x page, open
ú the FMC (or FMCS CMPTR) circuit breaker on the P18 panel.
3) After 15 seconds, close the FMC (or FMCS CMPTR) circuit
breaker on the P18 panel.
ú 4) Make sure that the CDU display shows the IDENT 1/x page.
ú (b) Make sure the part numbers shown on the IDENT 1/x page for the
ú navigation data base and operational program are correct.
ú (c) Make sure the dates shown on the IDENT 1/x page, directly below
ú ACTIVE, are current.
ú (d) If the part numbers or dates are incorrect, use a data loader
ú to load the correct FMC software (AMM 34-62-00/201 or AMM
ú 34-62-01/201).
ú (e) AIRPLANES WITH FMC P/N 10-62225-XXX AND SOFTWARE UPDATE 7 AND
ú SUBSEQUENT;
ú Push the NEXT PAGE button.
ú 1) Make sure the CDU shows the IDENT 2/x page.
ú (f) AIRPLANES WITH FMC P/N 10-62225-XXX AND SOFTWARE UPDATE 7 AND
ú SUBSEQUENT;
ú Make sure the part number shown for the databases is correct.

NOTE: When a database is not installed the CDU shows____
ú DEFAULTXXX below the name of the database.

E. Performance (PERF) Factors - Verification/Adjustment
NOTE: The performance factors are airline supplied constants. These____
constants are: PERF CODE, DRAG FACTOR, F-F (fuel flow) FACTOR,
MNVR (maneuvar) MARGIN, MIN CRZ (minimum cruise) TIME, and MIN R/C
(minimum rate of climb) CLB, CRZ and ENG OUT.
