Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum source.

Remove the surface grease and dirt from the CDU display with a cloth moist with glass cleaner.

4. FMCS CDU Keyboard Removal

B. Procedure

(1) Open this circuit breaker and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P18 Panel
1) FMCS CDU No. 1
NOTE: On airplanes with provisions for dual FMC, FMCS CDU
____ (ANCDU, MCDU) No. 2 circuit breaker will be on the P6-1 panel.

(2) Remove the keyboard:
(a)
Remove the six captive screws that hold the keyboard to the mounting plate.
(b)
Carefully move the keyboard from the mounting plate to get access to connector J3 and P3 behind the keyboard.
(c)
Remove the two captive screws that hold connector J3 to P3.
(d)
Disconnect the connector J3 from the keyboard connector P3.
(e)
Put a cover on the connector J3 and cable to prevent damage.

NOTE: Make sure you install a keyboard with the same part number as

the one you removed.
(a)
Make sure the gasket is correctly aligned.
(b)
Connect the connector J3 to the keyboard connector P3.
(c)
Install the two captive screws which attach the connector J3 to P3.
(d)
Install the six captive screws that hold the keyboard to the mounting plate.

(2) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
(a) P18 Panel
1) FMCS CDU No. 1.

D. Keyboard Test

(1) Prepare for the keyboard test:
(a)
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(b)
Make sure that the BAT switch on the Pilot's Forward Overhead Panel is in the ON position.
(c)
Set the STANDBY POWER switch on the Pilot's Forward Overhead Panel to the AUTO position.
(d)
Make sure that these circuit breakers are closed:
