3. Fault Confirmation
__________________
A. Test Do the operational test of the VHF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-00-710-001).
NOTE : Do the transmission test for more than 60 s to see the ECAM
____ warning on the upper ECAM DU. (The COM VHF 2 EMITTING message is displayed after 60 s of continuous transmission).
NOTE : Do this test at each crew station to find which station is related
____
with the failure.
NOTE : Do this test for the VHF 2 system only.
____
NOTE : At the end of the test (before you do the fault isolation
____ procedure), make sure that these controls are not in the transmit position:
- the VHF 2 transmission pushbutton switch on an Audio Control Panel
- a radio PTT switch on one of the two side sticks
- a radio PTT pushbutton switch
- a hand mike selector.
4. Fault Isolation
_______________
A. Table of the circuit breakers used in this procedure:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------PANEL DESIGNATION IDENT. LOCATION -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
121VU COM NAV/VHF/2 2RC2 L04
B. After 60 s, when the VHF 2 transmission stops, this ECAM warning does not go out of view:
- COM VHF 2 EMITTING.
(1) If the above warning does not go out of view after action on the VHF 2 transmission pushbutton switch (green bars off) (on the ACP of the related station):
- go to Para. 4.D.
(2) If the above warning goes out of view after action on the VHF 2 transmission pushbutton switch (green bars off) (on the ACP of the related station):
- go to Para. 4.C.

C. Open the circuit breaker 2RC2 on the panel 121VU, then close it.
(1) If the fault continues:
- do a check for ground at the pin AB/1D of the VHF 2 transceiver (1RC2) (Ref. ASM 23-12/02).
(a) If there is no ground signal at this pin:
- do a check and repair the wiring from VHF 2 transceiver (1RC2) pin AB/1D to the first terminal block (Ref. ASM 23-12/02)
(b) If there is a ground signal at this pin:
- replace the XCVR-VHF, 2 (1RC2) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-33-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-33-400-001).
1_ If the fault continues:
- replace the AMU (1RN) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-34-000-001) and
(Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-34-400-001).
2_ If the fault continues:
- do a check and repair the wiring between AMU (1RN) pin AA/2F
and VHF 2 transceiver (1RC2) pin AB/1C (Ref. ASM 23-51/06)
- go to Para. 4.D.
D. The fault is at one of the 3 crew stations.
(1) If the fault is at the Captain station:
- do a check of continuity between pin AA/9J and pin AA/9K of the AMU (1RN) (Ref. ASM 23-51/02).
(a) If there is continuity between the two pins:
- replace the SW-RAD PTT, CAPT (11RN) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-41-400-001).
1 If the fault continues:
_
- replace the AMU (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-34-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-34-400-001).
2 If the fault continues:
_
- do a check and repair the wiring between AMU (1RN) pins AA/9J, 9K and pins 1, 2 of the radio PTT switch (11RN) (Ref. ASM 23-51/02).
(b) If there is no continuity between the two pins:
- replace the AMU (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-34-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-34-400-001).
1 If the fault continues:
_
- replace the ACP-CAPT (2RN1) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-12-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-12-400-001).
