A. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the ACARS (Ref. AMM TASK 23-24-00-710-001).
4. Fault Isolation
_______________
A. If, during the operational test, the ACARS cannot control the VHF3
frequency through the RMP3 only:
- replace the RMP-COM FREQ SEL, 3 (1RG3) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-13-13-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-13-13-400-001).
(1) If the fault continues:
- repair the wiring of the DFS PORT SELECT DISCRETE from RMP3 (1RG3) pin A/F to the first terminal block (Ref. ASM 23-24/01).
B. Do the test given in Para. 3.

BITE Test of the VHF System
Removal of the VHF Transceiver (1RC1, 1RC2, 1RC3)
Installation of the VHF Transceiver (1RC1, 1RC2,
1RC3)
Removal of the ACARS Management Unit (MU) (1RB)
Installation of the ACARS Management Unit (MU) (1RB)
R (1) Do the BITE test of the VHF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-00-740-001).
R NOTE : Do this test for the VHF 3 only.

R 4. Fault Isolation

R A. If the test gives the maintenance message :
R ACARS MU1 (1RB1)/VHF3 (1RC3)
R (1) If the ACARS indication comes into view in the ACTIVE display window
R of the RMP where the VHF 3 is set:
R - replace the XCVR-VHF, 3 (1RC3) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-33-000-001) and
R (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-33-400-001).
R (a) If the fault continues:
R - replace the MU-ACARS (1RB), (Ref. AMM TASK 23-24-34-000-001)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-24-34-400-001).

R (b) If the fault continues:
R - remove the VHF 3 transceiver (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-33-000-001)
R - remove the ACARS MU (Ref. AMM TASK 23-24-34-000-001)
R - check and repair the wiring between the ACARS MU and the VHF 3
R transceiver between pins AA/7A, 7B and pins AB/11A, 11B (Ref.
R ASM 23-24/01)
R - install the ACARS MU (Ref. AMM TASK 23-24-34-400-001)
R - install the VHF 3 transceiver (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-33-400-001).
R B. Do the test given in Para. 3.A.
