On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:

Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off,

Make sure that the warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2) is in position.

Make sure that the access platform is in position below the engine.

A. Installation of the Fifth Stage Elbow Duct
(1)
Remove the blanking plugs from the fifth stage elbow duct (25), the IP bleed check valve (5) and the engine port.
(2)
Loosely install the fifth stage elbow duct (25) between the IP bleed check valve (5) and the engine port.
(3)
Attach the fifth stage elbow duct (25) to the IP bleed check valve
(5) with a serviceable E-seals (15) and the coupling (10).
(4)
Tighten the coupling nuts:
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THE SMOOTH CIRCULAR SURFACE OF THE COUPLING IS
_______ RADIALLY OUTBOARD FROM THE ENGINE. DO NOT LET THE COUPLING TOUCH ENGINE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE. DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE COULD OCCUR.
(a) Tighten the nuts of the coupling (10) sufficiently to hold the duct in position. Do not torque the coupling nut at this time.
(5)
Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No. CP2101) to the bolts (20).
(6)
Attach the fifth stage elbow duct (25) to the engine port with the bolts (20) and the E-seals (30).
