 1)  Connect test equipment as described in paragraph (2)(a), to upper right pitot-static probe.
 CAUTION: ENSURE THAT PROBE ADAPTER IS FLUSHED WITH WATER
_______ BEFORE ATTACHING ADAPTER TO PROBE, OR PROBE AND/OR ADAPTER MAY BE DAMAGED. A SOLUTION CONSISTING OF HALF PURE ETHYLENE GLYCOL AND HALF WATER SHOULD BE USED IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES DOWN TO -40.F. TO PREVENT PROBE MISALIGNMENT, TEST HOSES AND ADAPTERS MUST BE SUPPORTED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO ADD NO EXTRA WEIGHT ON PROBES.
 2)  Repeat steps 2.D.(2)(b)2) thru 5).
 3)  Remove adapter and vinyl adhesive tape from upper right pitot-static probe.

 (3)  Test Static Systems
 (a)  Test captain's static system for leakage. 1) Connect static (vacuum) source in pneumatic test unit through static control valve to static cutoff valve.
 2)  Using pitot-static probe adapter, connect forward set of static ports (S1) on upper left probe to static cutoff valve through static system test gages and flow restrictors.
 CAUTION: ENSURE THAT PROBE ADAPTER IS FLUSHED WITH WATER
_______ BEFORE ATTACHING ADAPTER TO PROBE, OR PROBE AND/OR ADAPTER MAY BE DAMAGED. A SOLUTION CONSISTING OF HALF PURE ETHYLENE GLYCOL AND HALF WATER SHOULD BE USED IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES DOWN TO -40.F. TO PREVENT PROBE MISALIGNMENT, TEST HOSES AND ADAPTERS MUST BE SUPPORTED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO ADD NO EXTRA WEIGHT ON PROBES.
 NOTE: Vacuum may be applied to a static system through
____ either drain fittings (using suitable adapters) or pitot-static probe for that particular system. This procedure is written for preferred connections and no further mention will be made of these options.

 OBSERVE AND REMOVE COVERINGS OVER STATIC PORTS
 BEFORE FLIGHT MAY CAUSE LARGE ERRORS IN
 AIRSPEED-SENSING AND ALTITUDE-SENSING SIGNALS,
 WHICH MAY LEAD TO LOSS OF SAFE FLIGHT.
 WARNING: WHEN THE PITOT PROBES/STATIC PORTS ARE COVERED,_______
