 Press RATING SELECT I switch on mode selector panel and observe that upper portion of switch cap and RTG I indicator light on pilots' center instrument panel comes on. Place IND LIGHTS switch on pilots' overhead panel to DIM and observe that both lights dim.

 the previous step applies for all modes except CON and CRZ. With either of these modes selected and RATING I or II selected, the switch cap will illuminate but the RTG indicator lights on instrument panel will not. The system will display FULL RTG when these modes are selected.
 (12)
 Press RATING SELECT I switch a second time and observe that upper portion of switch cap and RTG I indicator light goes out.

 (13)
 Repeat above steps using RATING SELECT II switch and RTG II indicator light.

 (14)
 Press and hold test switch on mode selector panel. Check that:

 (a)  
The TAT and EPR limit values displayed on the TAT/EPR limit indicator should read values as in TABLE I for each mode selected. The EPR limit values displayed by the command EPR counter should be within | .01 EPR of the test values.

 (b)  
The TAT and EPRL failure warning flags will be in view while the indicator is slewing.

 (c)  
Release test switch and observe that displayed TAT and EPRL readings return to their original values.

 

 (15)
 Holding test switch, press RATING SELECT I switch on mode selector panel. Check that:

 (a)  
Upper half on switch illuminates.

 (b)  
The EPRL values displayed on TAT/EPR limit indicator shall read values as in Table I for each mode selected and the command EPR counter should be within | .01 EPR of the test values.

 

 (16)
 Still holding test switch, press RATING SELECT II switch on mode selector panel. Check that:

 (a)  
Upper half on RATING SELECT I switch should extinguish and RATING SELECT II switch should illuminate.

 (b)  
The EPR values displayed on TAT/EPR limit indicator shall read values as in Table I for each mode selected and the command EPR counter should be within | .01 EPR of the test values.

 

 (17)
 Release test switch and press RATING SELECT II switch.  Upper half on switch should extinguish.

 (1)  
One centigrade outdoor thermometer with accuracy of | 0.5.C (Weksler or equivalent)

Means to heat and cool total air temperature probe

Means to apply air to total air temperature probe


 C.  Test TAT/EPRL System
 (1)  
Perform TAT/EPRL operational test (Ref 34-15-00). Do not remove electrical power.

 (2)  
Air must be applied to left total air temperature (TAT) probe No. 1 by one of the following methods:

 (a)  
One of the left engines operating.

 (b)  
A high pressure ground cart providing air to the airplane and left isolation valve opened (flight engineer's panel).

 (c)  
The APU operating and left isolation valve opened.
