 Connect all pitot and static hoses and lines that were disconnected in par. 4 to their respective components.

 Install red color 69B41424-1 orifice unions in pressure lines, if removed in para 4.


 NOTE: Prior to installing the orifice union, blow dry filtered air
____ into union to remove any dust or foreign material.
 (18) Perform leakage test of all systems (Ref 34-11-00). XA 6. Drain Pitot-Static System (Fig. 301, sh 1, 2, 3, and 4) XA A. Locate drain fittings as shown in Fig. 301. Check drain sump indicator XA tubes for accumulation of water. If no water is visible on all drain XA sump indicator tubes, no further actions are required. If water is XA visible on any drain sump indicator tube, operate each drain with and XA without indicator tube as described in paragraph B and/or C.
 B.  Unlock and remove drain cap on lower body of drain by upward pressure and twisting to release cap from the bayonet pins. Invert drain cap and insert the raised, hexagonal shaped portion of cap into opening now exposed in bottom of drain body. Pressing cap into drain body with hand pressure opens a spring-loaded seal and allows any collected liquid in the sump to exit, by gravity flow, from pitot-static system. Remove cap, invert it and lock it onto base of the drain as it was originally.
 XA Remove drain plug on lower body of drain. Any collected liquid in the XA sump will be drained from pitot-static tubing. Screw in drain plug XA after draining is complete.
 C.  Remove drain plug on lower body of drain by unscrewing plug. Any collected liquid in the sump will be drained from pitot-static tubing. Screw in drain plug after draining is complete.

 XA  A. A leak check is not required if only quick disconnects have been
 XA  disconnected and reconnected for removal/installation of pitot/static
 XA  components provided the following conditions are fulfilled:
 XA  (1)  Before installation, check for presence and good condition of
 XA  quick disconnect(s) on component(s) to be installed.
 XA  (2)  Check for proper mating of quick disconnect(s) after coupling of
 XA  reconnect component(s).
 XA  (3)  Double check of actual mounting of replaced component(s) (AF, SN).
 XA  (4)  Absence  of leak check must be specified in the documents
 XA  given to the crew.

 XA  NOTE 1:____ If removal/installation of pitot/static components involves
 XA  two independent systems or more, deletion of leak check is
 XA  admitted in outside stations but not at main base.  Any
 XA  discrepancy met with leakage of quick disconnect has to be
 XA  reported to RSE.

 XA  NOTE 2:____ This procedure overrides requirements for leak check in
 XA  removal/installation part of Chapters 21-31-02, 34-12-01,
 XA  34-13-01, 34-13-04, 34-13-05, and 34-14-00.

 PITOT-STATIC SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THE ATC TRANSPONDERS ARE NOT IN AN ALTITUDE REPORTING
_______
 MODE WHEN YOU SIMULATE ALTITUDE. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU CAN
 ACCIDENTALLY CAUSE FALSE TCAS TARGETS.

 A.  Make sure that the ATC transponders are not in an altitude reporting mode.
 B.  The pitot-static system is a dynamic and ambient air-operated system, for which no operational (preflight) check is practical. Abnormal air data pressure instrument readings (34-13-00) are the only preflight indication of abnormal conditions.
 C.  The low-range leak test may be performed if a quick confidence check of the pitot-static system is desired.
 D.  The full-range leak test (par. 2.E.) should be performed when a component of or a component connected to the pitot-static system is removed by disconnecting plumbing. This includes the pitot-static probes, alternate static ports, static source selector valves, tubing, hose assemblies and fittings.
