Press and hold ALTITUDE ALERT TEST switch, slowly set SEL ALT to 1000 feet above or below airplane altitude. Check that aural warning module sounds 2 (| 1/2) seconds and altitude alert annunciators come on.

 (3)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).


 3. Altitude Alert Annunciator - Removal/Installation
_________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  Removal/installation procedures for all annunciators are identical.
 B. Remove Annunciator
 (1)  
Open ALTIT ALERT COMP circuit breaker on panel P7 and pilots' IND LTS circuit breaker on panel P12.

 (2)  
Rotate instrument panel aft to gain access to rear of annunciator (Ref 31-10-00).

 (3)  
Record relationship of wiring and terminals and disconnect wiring from back of annunciator.

 (4)  
Press catches holding corners of annunciator to instrument panel and pull annunciator from face of instrument panel.


 C. Install Annunciator
 (1)  
Press catches of annunciator and push through cutout from front of instrument panel.

 (2)  
Connect wiring to terminals.

 (3)  
Install instrument panel (Ref 31-10-00).

 (4)  
Close circuit breakers.

 (5)  
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

 (6)  
Set master dim and test control to TEST. Check that annunciators come on.

 (7)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).

 ALTITUDE ALERT SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
_______________________________________

 1.  General
_______
 A.  The operational test and system test are intended to check out the overall function of the altitude alert system. The operational test is self-contained and gives a confidence test of the system, utilizing on-board equipment. The system test is predicated on successful completion of the operational test and cannot be performed alone. The system test may be performed concurrently with central air data system adjustment/test.
 2.  Operational Test - Altitude Alert System

 A.  Referenced Procedures
 (1)  24-22-00, Maintenance Practices (Apply Power)
 B.  Prepare for Test
 (1)  
Verify that ALTIT ALERT COMP and MON; CADC NO. 2 PWR and SYNC EXCIT; ALTM IND 2 circuit breakers on panel P7 are closed.

 (2)  
Verify that AURAL WARN; landing gear PRIM DIS & CONT and ALT DIS & CONT; pilots' IND LTS circuit breaker on panel P12 are closed.

 (3)  
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).


 C.  Test System
 (1)
Set barometric pressure on first officer's altitude indicator to

 29.92 in. Hg. or 1013 mb.


 (2)  
Set ALT SEL control to 1200 feet above or below airplane altitude as read on first officer's altitude indicator.

 (3)  
Press and hold altitude alert system TEST switch. Slowly adjust the SEL ALT to 800 feet from airplane altitude. Check that aural warning module sounds 2 | 1/2 seconds and altitude alert annunciators come on as the selected altitude reaches 900 |100 feet from airplane altitude.

 (4)  
Press and hold TEST switch. Slowly adjust SEL ALT control to 200 feet from airplane altitude. Check that annunciators go off as selected altitude reaches 300 |100 feet from airplane altitude.

 (5)  
XA all except AF 121, 122, 157, 161, 183, 184; press and hold TEST switch. Slowly adjust SEL ALT control to 500 feet from airplane altitude. Check that aural warning module sounds 2 | 1/2 seconds and annunciators come on flashing as selected altitude reaches 350 | 150 feet from airplane altitude.

 (6)  
AF 121, 122, 157, 161, 183, 184; press and hold TEST switch. Slowly adjust SEL ALT control to 400 feet from airplane altitude. Check that aural warning module sounds 2 seconds and annunciators come on flashing as selected altitude reaches 300 | 200 feet from airplane altitude.

 (7)  
XA all except AF 121, 122, 157, 161, 183, 184; press and hold TEST switch. Slowly adjust SEL ALT control to 1100 feet from airplane altitude. Check that flashing annunciators go off as selected altitude reaches 950 | 150 feet from airplane altitude.
