ANNUAL SPONSOR MEETING
On Thursday, September 28, 2000, the MMM
Annual Sponsor Meeting took place at the
Faculty Club. Present were the following

The first part of the meeting was devoted to a
status report on all MMM alumni, full-time and
part-time students. The list of companies which
had provided work terms to the class of 2001
was read out. The class of 2002 was presented
and it was pointed out that their average CGPA
was 3.3 out of 4.0 and the students had 4.13
years work experience on average.
This was followed by a detailed report on MMM
advertising and recruitment activities.
Information on the MMM program was
disseminated via GRE and GMAT searches, ads
in professional magazines and company
newsletters, on the Web, career fairs and
graduate recruitment fairs, as well as
presentations to professional organizations. One
noteworthy advertising activity of the past
academic year was a major corporate mailing to
95 companies with worldwide manufacturing
concerns. The aim was to publicize the program,
recruit employees as students and attract more
sponsors. Follow-up to this campaign is taking
place now.
There was extensive discussion about the
numerous innovations which MMM had
implemented. Performance scholarships, similar
to corporate bonuses, were to be awarded to the
top three students based on their GPA at the end
of each academic semester. Some sponsors felt
