SPEEA member Dan Jerome was recently appointed
SPEEA’s representative on the Renton Product Sector
SHEACommittee. At the December 10th Renton/Issaquah/
Bellevue Site Assembly meeting, he provided the following reportto

There has been lots of activity concerning Safety and SPEEA’s
involvement at the Renton site. Following is a brief synopsis of the
ongoing activity:
• I held a kickoff meeting with Judy Petersen (Director
of Safety) and Michael Babich (Safety Manager for the
Renton Site) to help clarify my role in the collaborative
efforts to make the Renton site safer for all involved. They
have been very supportive and were instrumental in getting
me invited to the Ross Bogue meeting and providing tickets
for the “Remembering Charlie” event.
• I regularly attend MBU manager Karsten Overa’s Safety
meetings.
• I received a cordial welcome and enthusiastic reception
from Ross Bogue at his Executive Safety meeting. Ross
Bogue (Vice-President of Manufacturing for BCAG) took
time to elaborate that his Safety team now has bi-lateral
support from SPEEA and the IAM, and made me feel well
received. I have been regularly attending this meeting.
• Through Ross Bogue and Judy Petersen’s help, tickets were
provided to Renton and Everett SPEEA members to attend
a special live presentation “Remembering Charlie” – a
