R  hand.
R  (6) Loosen the strap (but not fully) on the HOIST (98D32104013004).
R  (7) Move the side-stay (6) about the the side-stay center joint and
R  install the cardan joint (7) in the MLG attachment lug.
R  (8) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING
R  AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the thread of the cardan joint
R  (7).
R  (9) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-047) to the thread of the
R  cardan joint (7).
R  (10) Install the nut (8) and tighten by hand.
R  (11) Disconnect the cables from the hook.
R  (12) Disconnect the strap and remove the HOIST.
R  (13) To tighten the nut (2):
R  (a) Push the MLG as far as possible to the closed position. This will
R  make sure that the cardan joint (5) is installed fully in the
R  side-stay bracket.
R  (b) Use the TORQUE ADAPTOR (460005812) to TORQUE the nut (2) to 25.0
R  m.daN (184.36 lbf.ft).
R  (c) Loosen the nut (2).
R  (d) Do the steps (a), (b) and (c) two more times.
R  (e) Use the TORQUE ADAPTOR to TORQUE the nut (2) to 18.0 m.daN
R  (132.74 lbf.ft).
R  (14) To tighten the nut (8):
R  (a) Push the MLG as far as possible to the closed position. This will
R  make sure that the cardan joint (7) is installed fully in the MLG
R  leg assembly.
R  (b) Use the TUBE SPANNER (460007272) to TORQUE the nut (8) to 40
R  m.daN (294.98 lbf.ft).
R  (c) Loosen the nut (8).
R  (d) Do the steps (a), (b) and (c) two more times.
R  (e) Use the TUBE SPANNER to TORQUE the nut (8) to 16.2 m.daN (119.46
R  lbf.ft).
R  (15) Use a feeler gage to measure the dimensions W and X as follows:
R  (a) For in-service components:
R  - the total clearance must be between 0.05 mm (0.0019 in.) and
R  0.5 mm (0.0196 in.).
R  (b) For repaired or overhauled components:
R  - the total clearance must be between 0.05 mm (0.0019 in.) and
R  0.2 mm (0.0078 in.).
R  (16) Use a feeler gage to measure the dimensions Y and Z as follows:
R  NOTE : The clearance can change around the pin and the bush____
R  circumference. This is permitted if the maximum clearance is
R  the dimension used in all the calculations.
