R (1) On the panel 30VU:
R (a) Make sure that:
R - the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is in the off position (the ON
R legend is off) and,
R - the ENG 1 BLEED and the ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton switches are in
R the off position (the OFF legends are on).
R (b) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate
R these pushbutton switches.
R (2) On the HP ground connector put a warning notice in position to tell
R persons not to supply the ground air.

R (1) Remove the access panel (Ref. TASK 53-35-13-000-002).

R (2) Removal of the Compressor Return Duct
R (a) Remove the screws (3), the washers (2) and the yoke (1).
R (b) Remove the nuts (12), the bolts (8), the spacers (5) and the
R yokes (7) together with the shims (6).
R (c) Remove the screws (9), the washers (10) and the compressor return
R duct (4).

R A. Replacement of the Preformed Packings
R (1) Remove the preformed packings (11) and (13) from the compressor
R return duct (4).
R (2) Clean the preformed packings location grooves on the compressor
R return duct (4).
R (3) Apply lubricant:
R CAUTION : USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED LUBRICANT TO LUBRICATE THE O-RINGS_______
R AND THE PACKINGS. OTHER LUBRICANTS CAN CAUSE SMOKE OR A
R SMELL IN THE CABIN WHEN THEY BECOME HOT.
R (a) Apply a small quantity of LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-007) to the
R new preformed packings (11) and (13) (Ref. CMM 215202).
