Lubricate the packing (8) with petrolatum.
(b)
Install the packing (8) on the adapter (9).
(c)
Lubricate the threads of the adapter (9) with engine oil.
(d)
Install the adapter (9) in the fuel bypass valve (7).
1) Tighten the adapter (9) to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6 newton-meters).

Install the fuel bypass valve:
(a)
Remove the caps from the fuel pump, the fuel bypass valve (7) and the fuel tube (2).
(b)
Lubricate the packings (6, 15 and 16) with the petrolatum.
(c)
Install the fuel bypass valve (7) on the fuel pump: 1) Install the packing (16) in the groove on the end of the fuel tube (2). 2) Install the packings (6 and 15) in the recesses on the inboard side of the fuel pump. 3) Put the end of the fuel tube (2) into the fuel bypass valve
(7). 4) Put the fuel bypass valve (7) against the fuel pump. 5) Attach the fuel bypass valve (7) to the fuel pump:
a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (13) with engine oil. b) Install the fuel bypass valve (7) to the fuel pump with the bolts (13) and the washers (14).

c) Tighten the bolts (13) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.3 newton-meters).
6) Attach the fuel tube (2) for the oil cooler inlet to the fuel bypass valve (7): a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (3) with engine oil. b) Install the fuel tube (2) to the fuel bypass valve (7)
with the bolts (3). c) Tighten the bolts (3) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
(d) Install the fuel supply tube (11): 1) Remove the caps from the fuel supply tube (11). 2) Lubricate the threads of the adapter (9), fuel metering
unit, and the tee for the fuel supply manifold with engine
oil. 3) Put the fuel supply tube (11) in position on the engine. 4) Connect the fuel supply tube (11) to the adapter (9), the
fuel metering unit, and the tee for the fuel supply manifold. 5) Tighten the tube nut (10) to 200-225 pound-inches (22.6-25.4 newton-meters). 6) Tighten the tube nut (12) to 450-500 pound-inches (50.8-56.5 newton-meters). 7) Tighten the tube nut (17) to 340-375 pound-inches (38.4-42.4 newton-meters). 8) Safety the tube nuts (10, 12, and 17) with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.
F. Return the Aircraft to its Usual Condition

Close the core cowl panels (AMM 71-11-06/201),

Close the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).
