Install the strainer and adapter to the fuel distribution valve.
(a)
Lubricate the packings with petrolatum.
(b)
Install the packings in the grooves on the ends of the strainer.
(c)
Put the strainer into the housing of the fuel distribution valve.
(d)
Put the adapter on the four hole flange on the fuel
distribution valve.
(e)
Align the offset bolt hole.
(f)
Install the adapter with the bolts.

Do the leak check of the fuel distribution tubes and connections.
(a)
Pressurize the fuel manifold and the fuel distribution valve at the adapter with air to 95-105 psi (655-725 kPa).
(b)
Apply the leak check to the fuel distribution tubes between the fuel distribution valve and the fuel injectors.
(c)
Apply the leak check to the connections between the fuel distribution valve and the fuel injectors.

Let the leak check stay for a minimum of five minutes.
(e)
Make sure that you can see no leakage from the surfaces, joints or connections.
(f)
If you find any leakage, repair or replace the applicable components and do the leak inspection for those components again.
(g)
Disconnect the air supply.

Keep the bolts with the adapter.

FUEL PUMP - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the tasks for the removal and the installation of the fuel pump. You can remove and install the fuel pump with the fuel metering unit (FMU) as one unit (this is referred to as the fuel pump unit). You can also remove and install the fuel pump after the removal of the FMU. This procedure gives the steps to remove and to install the fuel pump with and without the FMU.
B. The fuel pump is installed on the forward face of the main gearbox at the 5 o'clock position.
C. You can get the access to the fuel pump when you open the left and right half of the thrust reverser.
