 2) Lubricate a new packing (4) with the petrolatum. 3) Install the packing (4) on the drain plug (5). 4) Lubricate the threads of the drain plug (5) with engine
 oil.
 5)  Install the drain plug (5) in the FP3 port of the fuel pump. a) Tighten the drain plug (5) to 45-55 pound-inches
 (5.1-6.2 newton-meters). 6) Install the lockwire on the drain plug (5).
 (c)  Remove the fuel supply tube (11): 1) Disconnect the tube nut (10) from the adapter (9) for the
 fuel bypass valve. 2) Disconnect the tube nut (12) from the fuel metering unit. 3) Disconnect the tube nut (17) from the tee for the fuel
 supply manifold. 4) Remove the fuel supply tube (11) from the engine. 5) Install caps on the openings in the adapter (7), fuel
 metering unit and the tee for the fuel supply manifold.
 (d)  Remove the fuel bypass valve (7) from the engine: 1) Remove the bolts (3) which install the fuel tube (2) for the oil cooler inlet to the fuel bypass valve (7).
 2)  Remove the bolts (13) and the washers (14) which attach the fuel bypass valve (7) to the fuel pump.

3) Remove the fuel bypass valve (7) from the engine.
 a) Discard the packings (6 and 15).
 4) Discard the packing (16) from the fuel tube (2) flange.
 5) Install caps on the fuel tube and the openings in the fuel
 bypass valve (7) and the fuel pump .

If it is necessary to replace the fuel bypass valve (7), do the steps that follow:

 (a)  
Remove the adapter (9) from the fuel bypass valve.

 (b)  
Discard the packing (8).
