Remove the protection caps.
(b)
Lubricate the gasket (19) with the beeswax.
(c)
Put the gasket (19) on the boss on the diffuser and combustor case.
(d)
Install the fuel injector (5) in the boss on the diffuser and combustor case.
NOTE: Turn or lift the fuel injector, as it is necessary, to
____ install the fuel injector in the diffuser and combustor case.
1) Align the bolt holes in the support with the bolt holes in the diffuser and combustor case.
(e)
If you will install the No. 18 fuel injector, put the bracket (10) on the fuel injector (5) with the bolt holes aligned.
(f)
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (21) with engine oil.
(g)
Install the bolts (21) to attach the fuel injector (5), and the bracket (10) if applicable, to the diffuser and combustor case. 1) Tighten the bolts (21) to 65-85 pound-inches (7.3-9.6
newton-meters). 2) Tighten the bolts (21) again to 65-85 pound-inches (7.3-9.6 newton-meters) until you keep the necessary torque. 3) Install the lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule to the bolts (21).
(h)
For the No. 18 fuel injector, attach the oil supply tube to the bracket (10) with the steps that follow: 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (60) with engine oil. 2) Attach the tube clamp (62) for the oil supply tube to the
bracket (10) with the bolts (60) and nut (61). a) Tighten the nut (61).
(i)
Lubricate the new packing (20) with the petroleum jelly.
(j)
Install the new packing (20) to the groove on each of the three fuel injectors (5).

Lubricate the new packings (3) with the petroleum jelly.
(l)
Install the new packings (3) on each end of the transfer tube (2).
(m)
Install the transfer tube (2) in the supply tube (1).
(n)
Connect the fuel manifold (4) to the fuel injectors (5).
NOTE: You will tighten the fuel manifold nuts after you do the
____ leak check of the fuel manifold.
1) Lubricate the threads of the fuel injectors (5) with engine
oil. 2) Connect the fuel manifold (4) to the fuel injectors (5). 3) Tighten the fuel manifold nuts (4) with your hand.
(o) Connect the supply tube (1) to the fuel manifold (4).
NOTE: You will tighten the supply tube nut after you do the
____ leak check of the fuel manifold.
1) Lubricate the threads of the fuel manifold inlet (4) with
engine oil. 2) Connect the fuel supply tube (1) to the fuel manifold (4). 3) Tighten the supply tube nut (1) with your hand.
