Procedure


 S 424-063-N00
 (1)  
Install the fuel distribution valve:

 (a)  
Remove the caps from the fuel supply tubes (24), the fuel flow transmitter and the fuel distribution valve (2).

 (b)  
Lubricate the packings (5, 7, and 22): 1) Lubricate the packings (22) with the petroleum jelly. 2) Lubricate the packings (5 and 7) with the petrolatum.

 (c)  
Install the fuel transfer tubes (1) and the transfer tube (6): 1) Install the packings (22) on each fuel transfer tube (1). 2) Install the fuel transfer tubes (1) in each adapter of the

 fuel supply tubes (24). 3) Install the packings (5 and 7) in the grooves on each end of the transfer tube (6). 4) Install the transfer tube (6) into the fuel distribution valve (2).

 (d)  
Install the fuel distribution valve (2) on the engine: 1) Put the fuel distribution valve (2) on the transfer tubes (1).


 2)  ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 73-170; Do the steps that follow: a) Lubricate the bolts (23) with engine oil. b) Attach the fuel distribution valve (2) to the flange K
 bracket with the bolts (23).
 NOTE: Engines PRE-PW-SB 73-170 have bolts (23)
____ that are too short to reliably engage the helicoil locking feature. The threads of the bolts (23) are not coated with anti-gallant material.

c)  Tighten the bolts (23) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
 3)  ENGINES POST-PW-SB 73-170; Do the steps that follow: a) Attach the fuel distribution valve (2) to the flange K
 bracket with the bolts (23).
 NOTE: Engines POST-PW-SB 73-170 have bolts (23)
____ that are of sufficient length to reliably engage the helicoil locking feature. The threads of the bolts (23) are coated with anti-gallant material. Do not apply engine oil to the threads of the four bolts.
 b) Tighten the four bolts (23) to 62-72 pound-inches
 (7.0-8.1 newton-meters).
 4) Install the fuel distribution valve (2) on the flange J
 bracket with the bolts (3).
 5) Tighten the bolts (3) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
 newton-meters).

 (e)  Install the adapter (20) for the fuel flow transmitter: 1) Put the gasket (8) on the transfer tube (6) with the hole in the gasket aligned with the recess in the tube flange.
 2)  Move the transfer tube (6) forward against the fuel flow transmitter. a) Make sure the alignment pin in the transmitter flange
 engages the recess in the tube flange.
 3)  Put the adapter (20) for the fuel flow transmitter on the transfer tube (6). a) Make sure the slot in the forward flange of the adapter
 (20) engages the pin in the aft face of the transfer
 tube (6) flange.
 4) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (21, 13 and 14) with
 engine oil.

 5)  Attach the forward end of the adapter (20) and the transfer tube (6) to the fuel flow transmitter with the bolts (21) and washers (4). a) Tighten the bolts (21) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
 newton-meters). 6) Put the bracket (15) on the aft end of the adapter. 7) Attach the bracket (15) and the aft end of the adapter (20)
 to the fuel distribution valve (2) with the bolts (13 and 14). a) Tighten the bolts (13 and 14) to 85-95 pound-inches
 (9.6-10.7 newton-meters). 8) Safety the bolts (13 and 14) with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.
 (f)  Attach the clamps (10, 12, 16, 17, 18, and 19) to the bracket (15): 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (9) with engine oil.

2)  Install the clamps (10, 12, 16, 17, 18, and 19) on the bracket (15) with the bolts (9) and nuts (11). a) Tighten the nuts (11) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5
