b) Install the clamp (3A) with the bolt (4A). c) Tighten the bolt (4A) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.07-4.52 newton-meters).
9) ENGINES WITH THE SUPPLY TUBE (3) ATTACHED TO THE HPC BRACKET; Do the steps that follow: a) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (16A), which attaches
the clamp (15A), with engine oil. b) Install the clamp (15A) with the bolt (16A) and the nut (17A). c) Tighten the nut (17A) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.07-4.52 newton-meters).
10) Install the clamps on the EEC wire harness to the support bracket: a) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (5) with engine oil. b) Install the clamps on the EEC wire harness to the
support bracket with the bolt (5). c) Tighten the bolt (5) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).
CAUTION: USE THE CORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, AND TOOLS, FOR
_______ THE HARNESS CONNECTOR INSTALLATION (AMM 70-24-05/201). IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, OR TOOLS, A DAMAGED OR LOOSE CONNECTOR CAN OCCUR. A LOOSE CONNECTOR PERMITS VIBRATION, WHICH CAUSES THE CONTACTS TO WEAR AND DECREASES THE LIGHTNING PROTECTION.
11) Connect two electrical connectors, W5P1 and W4P2 (7 and 7A), to the FMU (6) (AMM 70-24-05/201): a) Remove the caps from the electrical connectors (7 and
7A). b) Connect two electrical connectors (7 and 7A) to the FMU (6).
(g) If the fuel pump (11) was installed without the FMU (6), install the fuel metering unit (AMM 73-21-01/401).
(h) Install the drain tube (28), the oil-cooler-outlet fuel hose (36) and the oil-cooler-inlet fuel tube (34): 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (40 and 43) with engine oil. 2) Connect the drain tube (28) for the fuel pump (11) to the elbow (29). a) Tighten the elbow (29) and the tube nut.
3) Install the oil-cooler-outlet fuel hose (36) to the fuel pump port (11).

4) Install the oil-cooler-outlet fuel hose (36) to the fuel
pump (11) with the bolts (43).
5) Install the oil-cooler-inlet fuel tube (34) to the fuel
pump (11) with the bolts (40).
6) Tighten the bolts (40 and 43) to 85-95 pound-inches
(9.6-10.7 newton-meters).

ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 73-161; Tighten the bolts (51) which attach the bracket (63) and the differential pressure switch S1585 (50) for the fuel filter:

ENGINES POST-PW-SB 73-161; Tighten the bolts (51) which attach the bracket (79) and the differential pressure switch S1585 (50) for the fuel filter: 1) Tighten the bolts (51) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7
newton-meters).

Connect the electrical connector DS1585 (1) to the differential pressure switch S1585 (52) for the fuel filter: 1) Remove the cap from the electrical connector DS1585 (1). 2) Connect the electrical connector DS1585 to the differential
pressure switch S1585 (52).

ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 73-161; Connect the EEC wire harness to the thermocouple probe (67): 1) Install the lugs (44) for the EEC wire harness to the
studs (67) and loosely install the nuts (64 and 65) and
washers (66 and 70).
2) Loosely install the clamp, ground strap and bolt to the
bracket on the housing.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE THERMOCOUPLE STUD BOX DOES NOT TURN

WHEN THE COUPLING NUT IS TIGHTENED. IF THE
THERMOCOUPLE STUD BOX TURNS, DAMAGE TO THE WIRE
HARNESS CAN OCCUR.
3) While you hold the thermocouple stud box, tighten the
coupling nut on the thermocouple probe (67) to 95-100
pound-inches (10.734-11.298 newton-meters).
CAUTION: DO NOT ALIGN THE THERMOCOUPLE STUD BOX AFTER THE
_______
COUPLING NUT IS TIGHTENED. HOLD THE THERMOCOUPLE
STUD BOX AND LOOSEN THE COUPLING NUT TO ALIGN THE
THERMOCOUPLE STUD BOX AGAIN.
4) Make sure the thermocouple stud box is aligned.
CAUTION: TOO MUCH TORQUE (MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM TORQUE) ON THE
