Open the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Procedure

(1)
Remove the fuel distribution-valve strainer:
(a)
Remove the bolts (10) and the nuts (12) which attach the clamps (11, 13, 17, 18, 19, and 20) to the bracket (16).
(b)
Put the container below the fuel distribution valve.
(c)
Remove the strainer cover (3) and the transfer tube (6):
1) Remove the bolts (14 and 15) which attach the adapter (21) and the bracket (16) to the strainer cover (3). a) Remove the bracket (16) from the engine.
2) Remove the bolts (23) and the washers (22) which attach the adapter (21) and the transfer tube (6) to the fuel flow transmitter.
3) Remove the adapter (21) from the engine. 4) Move the transfer tube (6) aft until the transfer tube touches the fuel distribution valve. 5) Remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4) which attach the strainer cover (3) to the fuel distribution valve. 6) Remove the strainer cover (3) and the transfer tube (6) from the engine. 7) Remove the transfer tube (6) from the strainer cover (3). a) Discard the packings (2 and 8) from the strainer cover
(3) and the transfer tube (6).

b) Remove the gasket (7).
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE THE PWA 86459 PULLER TO REMOVE THE STRAINER.
_______ IF YOU DO NOT USE THE PWA 86459 PULLER, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STRAINER.
(d)
Remove the strainer (24) from the fuel distribution valve with the steps that follow: 1) Engage the PWA 86459 puller to the strainer (24). 2) Pull the strainer (24) from the fuel distribution valve. 3) Disengage the PWA 86459 puller from the strainer (24). 4) Remove the PWA 86459 puller and the strainer (24) from the
engine one at a time. 5) Discard the packing (1).
(e)
Install caps on the fuel flow transmitter and the fuel distribution valve.
