(1)
Remove the starter (AMM 80-11-01/401).

Remove the No. 10, 11 or 12 fuel injector and support.
(a)
Disconnect the cable (100) for the exciter-to-igniter plug from the lower igniter plug (Fig. 402, Sheet 1). 1) Loosen the clamp (102) which attaches the heat shields
(101, 103) on the cable (100). 2) Remove the heat shields (101, 103). 3) Disconnect the coupling nut which attaches the cable (100)
to the igniter plug. a) Touch the igniter plug boss to the cable contact to ground the cable (100). 4) Attach the cable end away from the igniter plug.
(b)
Remove the heat shield (107) with the steps that follow (Fig. 402, View C): 1) Remove the screws (108) and the washers (109). 2) Remove the bolts (104), nuts (106) and washers (105) which
attach the heat shield (107) to the brackets. 3) Remove the heat shield (107) from the engine.
(c)
Remove the bolt (55) and nut (56) which attach the fuel manifold clamp (57) to the bracket on the diffuser case.
(d)
If you will remove the No. 12 fuel injector, remove the right turbine-blade cooling-air duct (1) (Fig. 403). 1) Remove the bolts (125, 126, 127, 128) which attach the TVC
air duct (115) and the bracket (124) to the diffuser case.

2) ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 73-164; Remove the bolts (123) which attach the TVC air duct (115) and the bracket (122) to the turbine vane and blade cooling air (TVBCA) valve.
3) ENGINES POST-PW-SB 73-164; Remove the bolts (123) which attach the TVC air duct (115) and the bracket (122A) to the turbine-vane and blade cooling-air (TVBCA) valve.
4) Remove the bolts (42) and nut (41) which attach the clamps
(40) to the brackets on the diffuser case and the No. 8 fuel injector. 5) Remove the TVC air duct (115) from the engine.
a) ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 72-537 OR POST-PW-SB 72-627; Remove the locks (129), the metering plate (121) and the gaskets (120, 130, 131) from the ends of the TVC air duct (115).
b) ENGINES POST-PW-SB 72-537 OR PRE-PW-SB 72-627; Remove the locks (129), the ring spacer (121A) and the gaskets (120, 130, 131) from the ends of the TVC air duct (115).
c) Discard the gaskets (120, 130, 131). 6) Install caps on the openings in the diffuser case and the TVBCA valve.
(e)
If you will remove the No. 12 fuel injector, remove the bracket (11). 1) Remove the bolts (52), nuts (51) and washers (53) which
attach the bracket (54) to the bracket (11). 2) Remove the bolts (21) which attach the bracket (11) to the No. 12 and No. 13 fuel injectors (5).
(f)
Put the container below the fuel manifold (4).
(g)
Disconnect the supply tube (1) from the fuel manifold (4).
(h)
Disconnect the fuel manifold (4) from all three fuel injectors (5).
(i)
Remove the fuel manifold (4) from the engine. 1) Install caps on the openings in the fuel manifold.
