Attach the flange of the air vent tube (157) and the bracket (168) to the port of the HPC rear case with the bolts (161, 164). 1) Tighten the bolts (161, 164) with your hand.

Lubricate the threads of the bolt (159) with engine oil.

Attach the clamp (156) to the bracket on the No. 21 fuel injector with the bolt (159) and nut (158). 1) Tighten the nut (158) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5
newton-meters).
(l)
Tighten the tube nut (155) to 825-900 pound-inches (93.2-101.7 newton-meters). 1) Install the lockwire or safety cable and safety cable
ferrule to the tube nut (155).
(m)
Tighten the bolts (161, 164) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
(n)
Tighten the bolts (161, 164) again to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters) until you keep the necessary torque. 1) Install the lockwire or safety cable and safety cable
ferrule to the bolts (161, 164).
(o)
Lubricate the threads of the bolt (162) with engine oil.
(p)
Attach the tube clamp (163) for the PT4.95 tube to the bracket (168) with the bolt (162) and nut (171). 1) Tighten the nut (171) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.6
newton-meters).
(q)
Lubricate the threads of the bolt (160) with engine oil.
(r)
Attach the tube clamp (170) on the signal tube for the air shutoff valve to the bracket (168) with the bolt (160) and nut (169). 1) Tighten the nut (169) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.6
newton-meters).

Remove the protection caps from the openings in the diffuser case, the HPC rear case and the open ends of the diffuser-seal air vent-tube.

Install the gasket (223) in the groove in the port on the HPC rear case.
(c)
Install the deflector (222) in the port on the HPC rear case.
1) Align the pin on the deflector (222) with the alignment hole in the HPC rear case.
CAUTION: HOLD THE DIFFUSER CASE INTERNAL TUBE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE
_______ SAFETY WIRE AND INSTALL THE LOCKS. IF YOU DO NOT HOLD THE DIFFUSER CASE INTERNAL TUBE, IT CAN FALL INTO THE DIFFUSER CASE.
(d)
Remove the temporary safety wire around the diffuser case internal tube.
(e)
Attach the locks (200) that hold the diffuser case internal tube with paraffin wax.
(f)
Attach the new gasket (202) to the rear flange of the left diffuser-seal air vent-tube (203) with paraffin wax. 1) Make sure the raised surface of the gasket (202) points to
the outside of the air vent tube.
2) Make sure the boltholes and the opening in the gasket (202) align with the boltholes and the opening in the rear flange.
(g)
Attach the new gasket (201) to the groove in the rear flange of the left diffuser-seal air vent-tube (203) with paraffin wax.
(h)
Attach the new gasket (221) to the forward flange of the left diffuser-seal air vent-tube (203) with paraffin wax.
(i)
Lubricate the threads of the attaching bolts of the left diffuser-seal air vent-tube (203) with engine oil.
(j)
Put the left diffuser-seal air vent-tube (203) in position on the engine.
(k)
Attach the rear flange and the bracket (206) to the diffuser case with the ten bolts (204). 1) Tighten the bolts (204) with your hand.
(l)
Attach the forward flange and the bracket (224) to the HPC rear case with the four bolts (215, 220). 1) Tighten the bolts (215, 220) with your hand.
(m)
Lubricate the threads of the bolt (211) with engine oil.
(n)
Attach the clamp (210) of the left diffuser-seal air vent-tube (203) to the fuel injector bracket with the bolt (211) and nut (212). 1) Tighten the bolt (211) with your hand.
