ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 73-84, PRE-PW-SB 79-46 OR PRE-PW-SB 79-75; Install the No. 3 bearing oil scavenge manifold (135) if it was removed (Fig. 404).
(a)
Remove the caps from the diffuser case fitting and the lubrication and scavenge oil pump.
(b)
Lubricate the packing (137) with engine oil.
(c)
Install the packing (137) in the groove on the flange of the manifold (135).
(d)
Lubricate the threads of the tube nut (136) with engine oil.
(e)
Put the manifold (135) in position on the engine.
(f)
Connect the tube nut (136) to the diffuser case fitting. 1) Tighten the tube nut (136) with your hand.
(g)
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (139) with the antigalling compound.
(h)
Attach the manifold (135) and bracket (138) to the lubrication and scavenge oil pump with the bolts (139). 1) Tighten the bolts (139) with your hand.
(i)
Lubricate the threads of the bolt (141) with engine oil.
(j)
Attach the clamp (142) to the bracket on the aft end of the lubrication and scavenge oil pump with the bolt (141) and the nut (143). 1) Tighten the nut (143) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5
newton-meters).

Tighten the bolts (139) to 62-72 pound-inches (7.0-8.1 newton-meters).
(l)
Hold the elbow of the manifold (135) and tighten the tube nut (136) to 650-700 pound-inches (73.4-79.1 newton-meters). 1) Safety the tube nut (136) with lockwire or safety cable and
safety cable ferrule.
(m)
Remove the caps from the electrical connector of the oil temperature sensor of the No. 3 bearing.
CAUTION: USE THE CORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, AND TOOLS, FOR THE
_______ HARNESS CONNECTOR INSTALLATION (AMM 70-24-05/201). IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE, OR TOOLS, A DAMAGED OR LOOSE CONNECTOR CAN OCCUR. A LOOSE CONNECTOR PERMITS VIBRATION, WHICH CAUSES THE CONTACTS TO WEAR AND DECREASES THE LIGHTNING PROTECTION.
(n) Connect the electrical connector (140), W5P13, to the oil temperature sensor of the No.3 bearing (AMM 70-24-05/201).

Lubricate the threads of the bolts (139) with the antigalling compound.
(h)
Attach the manifold (135) and bracket (138) to the lubrication and scavenge oil pump with the bolts (139). 1) Tighten the bolts (139) with your hand.
