FUEL TUBES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the tasks for the removal and the installation of the tube in the fuel system.
B. It is not necessary to remove the fuel tubes for the usual maintenance. If the one or more of these conditions show, you can remove the fuel tubes:
(1)
The fuel tubes are damaged
(2)
The fuel tubes have leaks
(3)
The fuel tubes prevent the removal of the engine component.
C.
When you remove the fuel tubes, you must use this procedure.
D.
You can get the access to the fuel tubes when you open the left or the right thrust reverser.

Open the core cowl panels (AMM 71-11-06/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU OPEN THE
_______ THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Open the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the fuel tube:
(a)
Disconnect the coupling nuts or the flexible fittings.
(b)
Remove the fuel tube from the engine.

(6) Attach a tag with the name and the location to each fuel tube that you disconnected or removed.
NOTE: If you remove the tubes from different systems, you must
____ be careful and not connect the tubes at the incorrect location.

Attach a tag or put a note on the location of all clips, support clamps, and brackets to make sure they are installed correctly.

Install the caps:
(a)
Install the cap on the disconnected or removed fuel tube.
(b)
Install the cap on the openings on the engine where you removed the fuel tube.
