_______ UNIT. THESE ITEMS ARE HEAVY. WHEN THE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL PUMP UNIT ACCIDENTALLY FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE WEIGHT OF THE FUEL PUMP OR THE FUEL PUMP
_______ UNIT BE MOVED ON THE PUMP SPLINES DURING THE INSTALLATION. IF THIS OCCURS, DAMAGE TO THE FUEL PUMP CAN OCCUR.
(d) Install the fuel pump (11) or the fuel pump unit (6 and 11) to the gearbox: 1) Align the pump shaft with the main gearbox.

2) Align the unslotted hole in the fuel pump flange (11) with the hole in the mounting surface.
3) Move the fuel pump (11) or the fuel pump unit (6 and 11) to
the rear.
4) Engage the pump shaft with the main gearbox.
5) Put the fuel pump (11) flange against the mounting surface
through the heads of the installed bolts (60).
CAUTION: ALIGN THE OIL-COOLER-INLET FUEL TUBE (34) WITH THE
_______ PORT ON THE FUEL PUMP WHILE YOU TURN THE FUEL PUMP. IF YOU DO NOT ALIGN THE FUEL TUBE WITH THE FUEL PUMP PORT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PACKING AND THE FUEL PUMP PORT.
6) Turn the fuel pump (11) or the fuel pump unit (6 and 11) counterclockwise to align the oil-cooler-inlet fuel tube (34) with the port on the fuel pump.
7) Install the anti-rotation bolt (60).
CAUTION: WHEN YOU USE THE PWA ADAPTER, YOU MUST ADJUST THE
_______ SETTING OF THE TORQUE WRENCH (AMM 70-23-00/201). A HIGH TORQUE APPLIED TO THE BOLT WILL DAMAGE THE THREADS OF THE BOLT.
8) Use the PWA 86461 torque adapter to tighten the bolt (60) at the 1 o'clock position to 225-250 pound-inches (25.4-28.2 newton-meters).
9) Use the PWA 85862 torque adapter to tighten the remaining bolts (60) to 225-250 pound-inches (25.4-28.2 newton-meters).

If applicable, remove the bolts which attach the fuel pump (11) or the fuel pump unit (6 and 11) to the PWA 85989 handling fixture. 1) Remove the handling fixture from the engine.
(f)
If you installed the fuel pump unit (6 and 11), install these parts on the fuel pump unit: 1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (55 and 56) with engine
oil.

2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Put the bracket (57) on the FMU adapter (54).Install the bolt (56), at the bottom hole of the bracket (57), on the bracket and the FMU adapter (54).Install the bolts (55) on the bracket (57) and the FMU adapter (54).Tighten the four bolts (55 and 56) to 65-85 pound-inches (7.3-9.6 newton-meters).Connect the supply tube (3) for the fuel distribution valve:
a) Remove the caps from the supply tube (3). b) Lubricate the threads of the tube nuts (2) with engine oil.
c) Connect the tube nuts (2) to the FMU adapter (54) and the adapter for the fuel flow transmitter. d) Tighten the tube nuts (2) to 150-160 pound-inches (16.9-18.1 newton-meters). e) Loosen the tube nuts (2). f) Tighten the tube nuts (2) again to 150-160 pound-inches (16.9-18.1 newton-meters). g) Safety the tube nut (2) with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.
NOTE: The bolt (56) has the holes which you can____ use to safety the lower tube nut.
7) 8) Install the clamp (14) to the clamp (15) on the oil return tube for the air/oil heat exchanger of the IDG: a) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (16) with engine oil. b) Install the clamp (14) to the return tube clamp (15) with the bolt (16) and the nut (17). c) Tighten the nut (17) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).Install the clamp (3A): a) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (4A), which attaches the clamp (3A), with engine oil.
