Prepare to Remove the Fuel Pump

(1)
Do these steps to prepare the engine for the removal of the fuel pump (11):
(a)
Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(b)
Make sure the applicable FUEL CONTROL switch is in the CUTOFF position. 1) Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(c)
Push the STAT button on the select panel for the EICAS display.
(d)
Make sure the status page shows on the auxiliary EICAS.
(e)
Make sure the applicable status message, FUEL SPAR VLV 1, 2, 3, or 4, does not show.

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THE APPLICABLE CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR THE
_______ ENGINE IGNITION BEFORE YOU OPEN THE ENGINE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE FUEL CONTROL VALVE. THE IGNITER PLUGS CAN START THE IGNITION AUTOMATICALLY IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER HAS FUEL IN IT, AN INTERNAL ENGINE FIRE OR THE TAILPIPE FIRE CAN OCCUR. THE FIRE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(f) For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: 1) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) 6F01, IGN 1 ENG 1
