R B. Test R R During aircraft operations on the ground and in flight, it is possible R for fuel to get into the vent/surge-tank. If this occurs during normal R (serviceable) operation the clack valves let the fuel move back into the R related wing-tank. R R If the two clack valves 215QM and 217QM become unserviceable, in the R closed position, fuel can collect in the related vent/surge-tank. The R collected fuel quantity will increase (cumulatively in separate, R successive additions) until the status of the related sensor 28QJ2 R changes from dry to wet. R R This can cause the two related results that follow: R - the ECAM warning 'FUEL R WING TK OVERFLOW' will be given, if in an R applicable flight phase R - the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/R XFR (6QL) FAULT legend will light, if it was R set to the on (pushed in) position.
R NOTE : The FAULT legend of the P/BSW-6QL can come on in the AUTO or the
____ R MAN (fuel transfer) configuration.
R NOTE : You can get more data from the Aircraft Schematic Manual (ASM)
____ R (Ref. ASM 28-26/01) (Ref. ASM 28-46/03) and (Ref. ASM 28-46/04).
R (1) If the FAULT legend of the P/BSW-6QL comes on, set the P/BSW to OFF R (released out) to prevent a possible fuel spill.
R (2) Make sure that the C/Bs 1QL and 2QL are closed.
R NOTE : The 28VDC supplies related to this procedure are as follows:
____ R - C/B-1QL supplies the FAULT indication circuit in the R P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/R XFR (6QL). R - C/B-2QL supplies the level sensor 28QJ2 channel in the R FLSCU-2 (9QJ) and the actuator control valve of jet pump 2 R (center-tank, right-side transfer)
R (3) Do the Functional (BITE) Test of the FLSS (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001).
R (4) Examine the FLSS STATUS page for the message 284616 R SURGE SENSOR
R 28QJ2:
R (a) If the message:
R
R - is shown, do step (5) and then step (6)
R
R - is not shown, do step (6).
R (5) Do the TSM procedure (Ref. TASK 28-46-00-810-812).

R (6) Do the Operational Test of the Main Transfer Control System (Ref. AMM
TASK 28-26-00-710-001).
R
R - if a new fault occurs (or shows during the Operational Test) refer
R to Troubleshooting, Fault Symptoms with the new related fault
R symptom(s) to find the applicable TSM procedure number(s).
R
R - if the test operates as specified, do the steps given in Para. 4.A.

4. Fault Isolation_______________
R A. Procedure
R (1) Get access to the right wing fuel-tank inboard side of Rib 22 (Ref.
R AMM TASK 28-12-00-200-001).
R (2) Do a check of (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-00-200-001) and replace, if
R necessary, the items that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-42-000-002) and
R (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-42-400-002):
R - the forward CLACK VALVE (215QM)
R - the rear CLACK VALVE (217QM).
R (3) Do the TSM procedure Unwanted (Spurious) Warnings/Indications
R involving the SDAC-1 (1WV1) (SDAC-2 (1WV2) (Ref. TASK 31-55-00-810-
R 801).
R (4) If the fault continues, do the Fault Isolation Procedures (in Para.
R 4.A.), of the TSM Tasks that follow:
R
R (a) Transfer Control Valve 2 (Right) does not close - (Ref. TASK 28-
26-00-810-805).
R
R (b) Main Transfer System Auto Control Failure - (Ref. TASK 28-26-00-
810-801).
