3. Fault Confirmation

A. During normal operation of the ECAM, the FUEL - AUTO TRANSFER FAULT is a configuration warning.
NOTE : This ECAM warning is only given in certain flight phases, and is
____
controlled by the FWC.
This warning function is activated simultaneously with the FAULT legend on the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (4QL).
NOTE : The FAULT is only given with the P/BSW in the AUTO (in) position.

The above indications are given because the fuel load distribution is not correct or the fuel has not been used in the correct sequence.
The warnings will be activated if the fuel distribution for any reason is as follows:
- the left wing tank, less than 4950 kg (10913 lb) AND the center tank, more than 300 kg (660 lb)
- the right wing tank, less than 4950 kg (10913 lb) AND the center tank, more than 300 kg (660 lb).
The warnings will be reset if the fuel distribution for any reason changes as follows:
- the left wing tank, less than 5000 kg (11023 lb) OR the center tank, more than 250 kg (550 lb)
- the right wing tank, less than 5000 kg (11023 lb) OR the center tank, more than 250 kg (550 lb).

The source of the comparison logic which activates and resets this
warning is contained in the FQIC(3QT).
The FQIC warning/FAULT logic output is:
- activated and reset immediately the specified conditions are correct. This FQIC logic is inhibited during refuel.
The FQIC warning/FAULT logic output is transmitted on:
- two (2) ARINC bus lines to the FWC (ECAM)
- one (1) discrete signal line to the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (4QL) FAULT legend.
(1) Examine the aircraft log/investigate the fuel configuration at the time of the original/repeat failure and compare it with the fuel configuration given in Para. 3.A.
(2) Do the BITE Test of the FLSS (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001).
(3) If failures are detected examine the FLSS STATUS page for any of the messages that follow:
- FLSCU1(2) 7QJ(9QJ)
- C LO LEVEL SENSOR 21QJ
- C LO LEVEL SENSOR 22QJ
- L(R) FULL SENSOR 23QJ1(2)
- L(R) UNFULL SENSOR 24QJ1(2)
- L(R) UNFULL SENSOR 25QJ1(2)
- L(R) UNFULL SENSOR 26QJ1(2)
- L(R) FULL SENSOR 27QJ1(2).
(4) If none of the above messages is shown:
- go to Step (6).
(5) If one or more of the messages identified in Step (3) are shown:
- troubleshoot the LRU(s) before you start more Steps. Refer to P. Block 101, CFDS for the related Page/Task number.
(6) Do the Operational Test of the Main Transfer Control System (Ref. AMM TASK 28-26-00-710-001).
(7) If any Manual Mode fuel transfer failures are detected in Step (6):
- troubleshoot those failures before you start more steps. Refer to P. Block 101 for the related Page/Task number.
(8) If an ECAM warning or FAULT legend failure is found:
- do the Center Tank Auto Transfer Warning and/or FAULT Legend Failure (Ref. TASK 28-26-00-810-815).
(9) If the Main Transfer System Auto Control operates as specified:
- no maintenance steps are necessary.
