 (c) Remove the temporary replacement FQIC 3QT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-34-000-001).

 (d) Do a check of the aircraft wiring (Ref. ASM 28-42/04) and (Ref. AWM 28-42-20) at the FQIC rack connector AB between:

 - the pins 2K and 11H (SC1A to CPU1 external wire A)

 - the pins 2J and 11J (SC1A to CPU1 external wire B)

 - the pins 1B and 10H (SC1B to CPU2 external wire A)

 - the pins 1A and 10J (SC1B to CPU2 external wire B)

 - the pins 4J and 11D (SC2A to CPU1 external wire A)

 - the pins 4H and 10D (SC2A to CPU1 external wire B)

 - the pins 3B and 10A (SC2B to CPU2 external wire A)

 - the pins 3A and 9A (SC2B to CPU2 external wire B).

 

 (e) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors (Ref. ESPM 20-00-00).

 (f) Install the initial FQIC 3QT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-34-400-001).

 (g) Do the test given in Para. 3.B.


 (6) If the fault continues, get the MCDU print outs of the Trouble shooting data and the FQIS Input parameters Pages you obtained in steps (1)(a), (2)(a) and (5)(a)1_, (5)(b)1_.

 (7) Decode the Trouble shooting data (Ref. TSM PB 301) and make a record of the result.

 (8) Examine all of the (paper printout) FQIS Input Parameters Pages and look for a value or values (any) that can cause a possible malfunction, for example:

 - compare fuel probe parameters (values - K, T, V, KA, KB, DENS, TEMP, PITCH and ROLL) with the others given on page 1 for similarity of the fuel conditions and ambient temperatures

 - compare fuel probe capacitance values with the value of the same probe in the opposite wing or group

 - look for blank indications (of related capacitance values) for a harness group.

 

 (9) If necessary, monitor the FQIS Input Parameters Pages live. Look for an abnormal value, an intermittent value or one that is seen to have unexplained fluctuations.

 (10) Make an analysis from the TS Data and Input Parameter results (paper printouts obtained in steps (1), (2), (5) and from the MCDU screen direct in step (9)) with those that follow:
 (a) If the quality of the aircraft fuel is unknown (you are not sure of):
 1 Defuel all the aircraft tanks (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-
_
 001).


 a Drain the remaining fuel (and water) from the all the tanks
_ to make sure that there is no water in the tanks (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003) (and if applicable (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005)).
 b Do a check of the aircraft log to see that the
_ microbiological contamination of the aircraft fuel tanks procedure has been complied with. If necessary, do (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-00-600-004) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-00-600-007).
 c Refuel with fuel of the correct specification (Ref. AMM
_ TASK 12-11-28-650-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004).
 d Do the test given in Para. 3.B.
_

 (b) If a fuel probe value(s) (any) is not what you would expect, replace the related LRU (Ref. TSM PB 101) for the related Task number(s).
 NOTE : The normal range of fuel probe capacitance values is given
____
 in (Ref. TSM PB 301).

 NOTE : A fuel probe can fail and still remain within its range
____ and/or not be reported on the FQIS STATUS page.
 1 Do the test given in Para. 3.B.
_

 (c) If the capacitive values of related fuel probe LRUs attached to a FQIS fuel tank harness are shown blank, fluctuate or are outside the range of a similar group:
 1 Do a check of the related aircraft wiring (fuel probes common
_ excitation drive and drive return including the common drive screen) between the FQIC rack connector and the parallel off (junction) point as given in a procedure for a fuel probe in the given group.
 a Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors (Ref.
_
 ESPM 20-00-00).

 2 Trouble shoot the related harness as given in a procedure for
_ a fuel probe in the given group.
 a If necessary, replace the applicable harness.
