 4. Procedure

 (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 31-63-22-991-001)
 Subtask 31-63-22-420-050
 A. Installation of the Display Unit
 (1)
 Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (2)
 Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (3)
 In the housing (8),make sure that the ventilation air inlet (7) is in the correct condition (flexible seal installed and duct not blocked) and that the locking studs (5) and the movable locking hooks (6) are not damaged.

 (4)
 Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (1).

 Make sure that the electrical connectors (1) are in the correct condition.

 (6)
 Install the unit (2) in the panel opening.


 NOTE : Fully move down the handle (3) to the bottom of the screen.

 Push the unit until the locking studs (5) touch the movable locking hooks (at this time, the face of the unit must be out of the panel by approximately 3 cm).

 (8)
 Push on the two sides of the unit (2) to connect the electrical connector (1) . Let the handle (3) move up freely until it is at the level of the locking catches (4) (the unit is now in line with the panel).

 (9)
 Slowly and continuously move the handle (3) to its maximum position.In this position the two locking catches (4) are locked under the handle (3).


 (10) FOR 2WT1, 3WT1 Install the thermoformed cover on the CAPT main instrument panel. FOR 2WT2, 3WT2 Install the thermoformed cover on the F/O main instrument panel. FOR 4WT1, 4WT2 Install the thermoformed cover on the center instrument panel.

 B. Return to service for hot and very humid countries.
 NOTE : In hot and very humid conditions apply the following precaution

 before the Display Unit is energized.

 (1) After the installation of the Display Unit (DU) on the aircraft wait 15 minutes before energizing the DU. During this period the avionics ventilation system should be operating to ensure the removal of any internal codensation.
