A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(3)
Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4)
Make sure that the warning notice(s) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system: - on the ground service panel 197CB.
(5)
Make sure that the warning notice(s) is (are) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.
(6)
Make sure that the left fan cowl door 437AL is open (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-010-040).

B. Safety Precautions
R (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
-make sure that the warning notice(s) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2)
Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3)
Make sure that the warning notice(s) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
-in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the panel 40VU.
(4)
On the maintenance panel 50VU:
-
make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off
-
make sure that the warning notice(s) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
R R (5) Make sure that a container is below the Green engine pump to collect the remaining fluid.

4. Procedure_________

Subtask 29-11-51-640-051
A. Preparation before installation
(1) Apply OILS (Material No. 03-002) to the new packing (40).
(2) Install the packing (40) on the splined drive shaft of the pump (35).
R (3) Remove the blanking covers from the threads that attach the unions (15), (25), the reducer (65) and from the ports of the pump (35).
R R (4) Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the new packing (30), new packing (55) and new packing (60).
(5) Put the packing (60) on the union/reducer (65).
CAUTION : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL/CONNECT PARTS ON THE PUMP TO_______ MAKE SURE THAT THE HYDRAULIC FLUID DOES NOT FLOW OUT. THE PUMP IS FULL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID.
(6) Install the union/reducer (65) in the pressure port of the pump (35).
(7) TORQUE the union/reducer to between 1350 and 1450 lbf.in (15.25 and 16.38 m.daN).

B. Installation of the Unions CAUTION : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL/CONNECT PARTS ON THE PUMP TO MAKE
_______ SURE THAT THE HYDRAULIC FLUID DOES NOT FLOW OUT. THE PUMP IS FULL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID.
(1)
Install the packing (30) on the union (25).
(2)
Install the union (25) in the case drain port of the pump (35).
(3)
TORQUE the union/reducer (25) to between 270 and 290 lbf.in (3.05 and
3.27 m.daN).
(4)
Install the packing (55) on the union (15).
(5)
Install the union (15) in the pump (35) suction port.
(6)
TORQUE the union (15) to between 860 and 940 lbf.in (9.71 and 10.62 m.daN).
(7)
Install the new gasket (45) on the gearbox mount pad.
(8)
Install the mount nuts (50) loosely on the four studs on the pump mount pad.
