 Do a check of the dimensions Y and Z again.

 TORQUE the nut (173) to between 4.8 and 5.4 m.daN (35.39 and


 39.82 lbf.ft).
 (3)
 At the outboard end of the shroud box:

 (a) Measure the dimension between the bottom of the shroud box and the top of the flap. The dimension must be between 5 mm (0.1968 in.) and 12 mm (0.4724 in.).

 (4)
 Do a check of the clearance between the trailing edge of the spoiler 1 and the top surface of the flap (Ref. TASK 27-64-00-820-001).

 V. Installation of the Z-Coupling
 (Ref. Fig. 530/TASK 27-51-00-991-080)

 (1)
 Remove the adhesive tape and release the levers (6) and (5).

 (2)
 Remove the loosely assembled nut (8), washer (9) and spacer(s) (10),

 (11) and (12).

 (3)
 Measure and record the value of the dimension F between the levers

 (5) and (6).

 (4)
 If the dimension F is more than 2 mm (0.0787 in.), install the spacer(s) (10) or spacer(s) (11) or spacer(s) (12) as follows:

 (a)
 Subtract 2 mm (0.0787 in.) from the dimension F.

 (b)
 Put together sufficient spacers (10), (11) or (12) as necessary, to give a thickness which is the same as the dimension F minus 2 mm (0.0787 in.). Keep the remaining spacers that you do not use.

 (c)
 Remove the nut (3), the washer (4) the bolt (13) and the lever (5).

 (d)
 Install the spacers (10), (11) or (12) to the correct thickness on the lever (5).

 (e)
 Install the lever (5) on the lever (6). Make sure that the spacers (10), (11) or (12) are installed between the levers (5) and (6).

 (f)
 Install the bolt (13).

 (g)
 Install the remaining spacer(s) (10), (11) or (12) (from work step (4)(b)), the washer (9) and the nut (8). Make sure that the spacer(s) are installed between the washer (9) and the lever (6).

 (h)
 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 3.1 and 3.6 m.daN (22.86 and 26.54 lbf.ft).

 (i)
 Safety the nut (8) with a new cotter pin (7).

 

 (5)
 If the dimension F is less than 2 mm (0.0787 in.), install the spacer(s) (10) or spacer(s) (11) or spacer(s) (12) as follows:

 (a)
 Install all the spacers (10), (11) and (12), the washer (9) and the nut (8). Make sure that the spacer(s) are installed between the washer (9) and the lever (6).

 (b)
 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 3.1 and 3.6 m.daN (22.86 and 26.54 lbf.ft).

 (c)
 Safety the nut (8) with a new cotter pin (7).

 

 (6)
 If the dimension F is zero (no clearance), install the spacer(s) (10) or spacer(s) (11) or spacer(s) (12) as follows:

 (a)
 Apply a load to the outboard end of the inboard flap to get a clearance of 1 mm (0.0393 in.). The load must be applied parallel to the axis of the lever (5) and must not be more than 20 daN (44.9617 lbf).

 (b)
 Install all the spacers (10), (11) and (12), the washer (9) and the nut is). Make sure that the spacer(s) are installed between the washer (9) and the lever (6).

 (c)
 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 3.1 and 3.6 m.daN (22.86 and 26.54 lbf.ft).

 (d)
 Safety the nut (8) with a new cotter pin (7).

 

 (7)
 Make sure that the rigging pin (70) is removed at the track 1 position.

 (8)
 Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to extend the flaps to position 1.

 (9)
 Install the washer (4) and the nut (3).

 (10)
 TORQUE the nut (3) to between 1.95 and 2.2 m.daN (14.38 and 16.22 lbf.ft).

 (11)
 Safety the nut (3) with a new cotter pin (2).

 (12)
 Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to retract the flaps to the 0 position.


 (13)
 Install the flap kink seals (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-400-006). Subtask 27-51-00-420-084

 W. Completion of the Flap Connection
 (1) Connect the interconnecting strut to the outboard flap (Ref. TASK 27-54-62-400-002).

 Install the flap kink seals (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-400-006). Subtask 27-51-00-710-071


 X. Operational Test of the Flap System
 (1)
 Remove the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER from the flap/slat control lever.

 (2)
 Do an operational test of the flap system (Ref. TASK 27-54-00-710-001).
