 Install the washers (32) and (40) and the nuts (34) and (39).

 (j)
 TORQUE the nut (34) to between 1.4 and 2.7 m.daN (10.32 and 19.91 lbf.ft).

 (k)
 Safety the nut (34) with the new cotter pin (33).

 (l)
 TORQUE the nut (39) to between 6.8 and 7.8 m.daN (50.14 and 57.52 lbf.ft).


 (m) Safety the nut (39) with the new cotter pin (38). Subtask 27-51-00-420-082
 T. Installation of the Tab Drive Control-Rod at the Track 4 Position
 (Ref. Fig. 533/TASK 27-51-00-991-082)

 (1)
 Install the loose bushes (62) and (59).

 (2)
 Install the tab drive control-rod (60) to the tab attachment bracket

 (54)
 with the bolt (53). Do not install the washer (58) and the nut

 (57)
 at this time.

 

 (3)
 If necessary, adjust the tab drive control-rod (60) to let you connect it to the carriage assembly (50) as follows:

 (a)
 Remove the bolt (53) and remove the tab drive control-rod (60).

 (b)
 Remove and discard the lockwire from the nuts (55) and (61).

 (c)
 Loosen the nuts (55) and (61).

 (d)
 Install the tab drive control-rod (60) to the tab attachment bracket (54) with the bolt (53).

 (e)
 Adjust the length of the tab drive control-rod (60) until you can install the hinge pin (52).

 

 (4)
 When the tab drive control-rod (60) is at its correct length:

 (a)
 Tighten the nut (61) and tighten the nut (55) by hand as much as possible.

 (b)
 Remove the hinge pin (52) sufficiently to let you remove the tab drive control-rod (60). Do not fully remove the hinge pin (52).

 

 


 NOTE : If you fully remove the hinge pin (52) from the carriage
____ (50), the roller bearing block (51) will fall out of alignment.
 (c)
 Remove the bolt (53) and remove the tab drive control-rod (60).

 (d)
 Make sure that the threads of the eye-ends of the tab drive control-rod (60) are in safety.

 (e)
 TORQUE the nut (61) to between 3.3 and 3.8 m.daN (24.33 and 28.02 lbf.ft).

 (f)
 TORQUE the nut (55) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft).

 (g)
 Safety the nuts (61) and (55) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).

 (h)
 Apply a layer of STORAGE PRESERVATION (Material No. 15-007) to the nuts (61) and (55).

 (i)
 Install the correctly adjusted tab drive control-rod (60) with the bolt (53) and the hinge pin (52).

 (j)
 Install the washer (63) and the nut (64).

 (k)
 TORQUE the nut (64) to between 1.4 and 2.7 m.daN (10.32 and 19.91 lbf.ft).

 (l)
 Safety the nut (64) with the new cotter pin (65).

 (m)
 Install the washer (58) and the nut (57).

 (n)
 TORQUE the nut (57) to between 2.6 and 3.0 m.daN (19.17 and 22.12 lbf.ft).

 (o)
 Safety the nut (57) with the new cotter pin (56).

 


 (5) Manually retract the flaps to the fully retracted position (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-012).

 (6) Install the rigging pin (1) at the track 1 position. Subtask 27-51-00-820-082
 U. Alignment of the Inboard Cruise Roller (Kink Roller) of the Outboard Flap (Ref. Fig. 544/TASK 27-51-00-991-093)
 (1)
 Measure the dimensions Y and Z as follows:

 (a) If the dimension Y is less than, or equal to, 3 mm (0.1181 in.):
 -you must adjust the position of the cruise roller (175) so that the dimension Z measures 3 mm (0.1181 in.) +/- 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.).
 (b) If the dimension Y is more than 3 mm (0.1181 in.):
 -you must adjust the position of the cruise roller (175) so that the dimension Z is decreased to the minimum possible value or until it measures 0 mm (0 in.).

 (2)
 To adjust the cruise roller (175), do the steps that follow:

 (a)
 If necessary, remove the cushion seal (170).

 (b)
 Remove the nut (173), the collar (172) and the serrated plate (174).

 (c)
 Turn the eccentric (171) until the dimension Z is correct.

 (d)
 Install the serrated plate (174) to lock the eccentric (171).

 (e)
 Install the collar (172) and the nut (173). Tighten the nut (173) by hand.
