 (1) Carefully, use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to fully extend the flaps. Manually move the tab so that it moves parallel with the flap.
 NOTE : The tab is connected at the track 2 position only.

 (Ref. Fig. 532/TASK 27-51-00-991-081, 539/TASK 27-51-00-991-092)
 (2)
 Push the tab forward (at the inboard end) until the top tab-drive
 control-rod (109) is aligned with the bracket (114).


 (3)
 Install the bolt (115), the washer (116) and the nut (117).

 (4)
 Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to
 fully retract the flaps.


 (5)
 Install the distance gage (22) at the hinge 1A position. If the
 distance gage cannot be installed, do the steps that follow:


 (a)
 Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to fully extend the flaps.

 (b)
 Remove the nut (117), the washer (116) and the bolt (115).

 (c)
 Loosen the nut (110).

 (d)
 Increase or decrease the length of the eye-end (111) (by one half turn) and install the bolt (115), the washer (116) and the nut (117).

 (e)
 Tighten the nut (110).

 

 (6)
 Do the steps (4) and (5) again until the distance gage (22) at the
 hinge 1A position can be installed.


 (7)
 Measure the dimension X (between the forward lever (113) and the nose of the flap (112). This must be between 7 mm (0.2755 in.) and 11 mm (0.4330 in.).

 Remove the distance gage (22) from the hinge 1A.

 (9)
 Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to
 fully extend the flaps.

 

 (10) Make sure that the eye end (111) is in safety.

 (11)
 TORQUE the nut (110) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft).

 (12)
 Safety the nut (110) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).

 (13)
 TORQUE the nut (117) to between 1.95 and 2.2 m.daN (14.38 and 16.22 lbf.ft).

 (14)
 Safety the nut (117) with the new cotter pin (118).

 (15)
 Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to fully retract the flaps. Make sure that the flap and the tab operate correctly.

 S. Installation of the Tab Drive Control-Rod at the Track 3 Position (Ref. Fig. 533/TASK 27-51-00-991-082)
 (1) Install the tab drive control-rod (42) at the track 3 position:
 (a)
 Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position.

 (b)
 Install the loose bushes (31) and (41).

 (c)
 Install the tab drive control-rod (42) to the tab attachment bracket (36) with the bolt (35) . Do not install the washer (40) and the nut (39) at this time.

 (d)
 If necessary, adjust the tab drive control-rod (42) to let you connect it to the carriage assembly (30):


 1_ Remove the bolt (35) and remove the tab drive control-rod
 (42).
 2_ Remove and discard the lockwire from the nuts (37) and (43).
 3_ Loosen the nuts (37) and (43).
 4_ Install the tab drive control-rod (42) to the tab attachment
 bracket (36) with the bolt (35).
 5_ Adjust the length of the tab drive control-rod (42) until you
 can install the bolt (44).

 (2) When the tab drive control-rod (42) is at its correct length:
 (a)
 Install the bolt (44).

 (b)
 Tighten the nut (43) and the nut (37) by hand as much as possible.

 (c)
 Remove the bolts (44) and (35) and remove the tab drive control-rod (42).

 (d)
 Make sure that the threads of the eye-ends of the tab drive control rod (42) are in safety.

 (e)
 TORQUE the nut (43) to between 3.3 and 3.8 m.daN (24.33 and 28.02 lbf.ft).

 (f)
 TORQUE the nut (37) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft).

 (g)
 Safety the nuts (37) and (43) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).

 (h)
 Install the correctly adjusted tab drive control-rod (42) with the bolts (35) and (44).
