R  (Ref. Fig. 501/TASK 27-54-00-991-038, 502/TASK 27-54-00-991-039, 503/TASK
 27-54-00-991-040) 
R  (1) Install the PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) (1) at the track 1. 
R  (2) If you cannot install the PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) (1) easily, do 
R  the steps that follow: 
R  (a) Removal of the Torque Shaft 6204CM (6254CM) 
R  1_  Install the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-
R  PIVOT (98D27504030001) on a flap torque shaft, outboard of the 
R  component that you will remove (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-400-003). 
R  2_  Remove the nuts (5) and the bolts (6) from the torque shaft
R  (4). If applicable, remove the spacers. 
R  NOTE : Spacers between the universal joint (3) and the torque____ 
R  shaft (4) adjust the length of the transmission. It is 
R  possible that there are none or more than one spacer(s) 
R  installed. 
R  3_  Remove the universal joint (3).
R  (b) Adjustment of the flap drive system (for free rigging pin). 
R  1_  Loosen the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-
R  PIVOT as necessary to turn the torque shafts. 
R  2_  Turn the torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) four turns in the
R  extension direction. 
R  3_  Turn the torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) in the retraction
R  direction until the rigging pin (1) can be installed easily. 
R  4_  If the torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) is accidentally turned too
R  far in the retraction direction: 
R  - Do the adjustment procedure again until the rigging pin (1) 
R  can be installed easily. 
R  (c) Preparation for Installation 
R  CAUTION : DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF LUBRICANT._______ 
R  GREASE AND ASSEMBLY PASTE DO NOT MIX.

R  IRRITANT. 
R  GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED. 
R  1_  Use a clean lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No.
R  19-003) and the cleaning agent CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 
R  11-026) to clean the parts that follow: 
R  - The nuts (5) 
R  - The bolts (6) 
R  - The flange of the universal joint (3) 
R  - The flange of the torque shaft (4). 
R  2_  Dry the parts with compressed air.
R  3_  Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component
R  are clean and in the correct condition. 
R  4_  Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
R  5_  Lubricate the torque splines as follows:
R  CAUTION : DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF LUBRICANT._______
