A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(2)
Put the warning notice in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
(3)
Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(4)
Put the adjustable access platform in position below the applicable flap.

(1)
Extend the flaps to position 1 (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2)
Remove the flap kink-seals (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
(3)
Remove the applicable wing to fuselage panels (Ref. TASK 53-35-11-000-001):

for the LH flap, remove 193AB
-
for the RH flap, remove 194AB.
(4) Fully retract the flaps (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-009). **ON A/C 301-399,

(1)
Extend the flaps to position 1 (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2)
Remove the flap kink-seals (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
(3)
Disconnect the Z-Coupling:
(Ref. Fig. 607/TASK 27-54-00-991-017)
(a)
Remove and discard the cotter pin (1).
(b)
Remove the nut (2) and the washer (3).
(c)
Remove and discard the cotter pin (6).
(d)
Remove the nut (7), the washer (8) and the spacer(s) (9).
(e)
Retract the flaps fully (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
(f)
Remove the bolt (10).
(g)
Remove the lever (4) and the remaining spacer(s) (9). NOTE : Record the position of the remaining spacer(s) (9) when
____ you remove them. This is to make sure the spacers are installed in the same position.
(h)
Temporarily install the spacer(s) (9), the washer (8) and the nut

on the lever (4).
(i)
Temporarily install the lever (4) on the attachment bracket (11) with the bolt (10), the washer (3) and the nut (2).
(j)
Turn the lever (4) forward as far as possible and hold it in this position with adhesive tape.
(k)
Turn the lever (5) forward as far as possible and hold it in this position with adhesive tape.
(4)
Remove the applicable wing to fuselage panels (Ref. TASK 53-35-11-000-001):

for the LH flap, remove 193AB
-
for the RH flap, remove 194AB.
(5)
Extend the flaps fully (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).

(a) Disconnect the upper tab-drive control-rod (22) from the shroud
box assembly attachment-bracket (26). R (Ref. Fig. 608/TASK 27-54-00-991-018)
1 Remove and discard the cotter pin (30).

2 Remove the nut (29), the washer (28) and the bolt (27).
_
3 Hold the tab drive control-rod (22) to the flap with adhesive
_
tape.
(b) Disconnect the tab drive control-rod (46) from the track 2

1 Remove and discard the cotter pin (44).
