 Turn the splined bush until the red paint marks are aligned. Adjust the bearings at one track position and then the other in small equal increments.

 


 NOTE : The splined bush engages with the main eccentric bearing.
____ When the bush is turned the eccentric bearing also turns.

 Use the TOOL FLAP ADJUSTING to adjust the main eccentric bearings. Adjust the bearings at one track position then the other in small, equal increments. Set the outboard flap as follows:

 (a) At the track 3 and the track 4 positions, adjust the main eccentric bearings and/or the carriage restraints (30) until:

 At the track 3 position: (Ref. Fig. 518/TASK 27-51-00-991-068)

 (a)
 Push the rotary actuator drive-lever (5) forward (as far as possible) and then push it rearward until it is aligned with the flap drive-arm (4).

 (b)
 If necessary: 1 Adjust the carriage restraint (27) together with the main

 


 1_ the dimension J at track 3 (between the trailing edge of the
 flap and the fin (21)) is 20 mm (0.7874 in.) +/- 2 mm (0.0787
 in.) measured from the inboard side of the fin (21).
 2_ the dimension M (the horizontal distance at the end of the
 flap between the outer fixed shroud and the trailing edge of
 the flap) is zero +/- 2 mm (0.0787 in.).
 3_ the dimension N (the vertical distance at the end of the flap
 between the outer fixed shroud and the top surface of the
 flap) is zero +/- 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.).

_ eccentric bearing until the drive-arm (4) and drive-arm (5) are aligned.
 2 Make sure that the flap rigged position stays in the specified
_ limits.
 (c) Loosely install the bolt (6).
 (4) At the track 4 position:
 (a)
 Push the rotary actuator drive-lever (5) forward (as far as possible) and then push it rearward until it is aligned with the flap drive-arm (4).

 (b)
 Measure the dimension Q (between the rotary actuator drive-lever

 and the flap drive-arm (4)).

 (c)
 If the dimension Q is not more than 2.5 mm (0.0984 in.), loosely install the bolt (6).

 If the dimension Q is more than 2.5 mm (0.0984 in.): 1 Adjust the main eccentric bearing until the dimension is

 (1) Use the TOOL FLAP ADJUSTING to adjust the main eccentric bearings. Adjust the bearings at one track position then the other in small, equal increments. At the track 3 and the track 4 positions, adjust the main eccentric bearings until:
 -at track 3, the top surface of the flap trailing edge aligns +/-
1.0 mm (0.0393 in.) with the zero line on the scale block (20) NOTE : Look inboard from the outside of the flap track beam when you
