R A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
R (1) Make sure that the flaps, the slats, the spoilers, the speed brakes
R and the thrust reverser are retracted.
R (2) Make sure that the THS is set to neutral.

R A. Stability of the Aircraft
R (1) If necessary, the ballast will be installed:
R - in the forward compartment
R - at the pax/crew door No 1.
R (2) Refueling wing tanks can also be a method to put the aircraft back
R into balance. In this case, the weight of the fuel must be added to
R the aircraft weight.
R NOTE : Before ballasts are put on the aircraft, make sure that the____
R limits below are not exceeded (Ref. WBM 1-10-00):
R - maximum weight of section 11
R - maximum loads on cabin floor
R - maximum load on jacking points.
R (3) This method is applicable to these aircraft configurations for each
R of wich a diagram is given:

R B. Check of the Aircraft Stability.
R NOTE : As the same procedure is applicable in any of the above____
R configurations, the diagram related to aircraft on wheels on dry
R ground is taken as an example
R (Ref. Fig. 207/TASK 05-57-00-991-004)
R (1) Check of aircraft stability: aircraft with two engines installed.
R - without crew
R - without galleys
R - without pallets and containers.
R For instance, plot point A on the chart from these coordinates:
R - weight: 46600 kg (102735.3852 lb)
R - CG: 24%
R NOTE : Under these conditions, the aircraft will be safe in winds up____
R to 50 kts (93 km/h).
R (2) Check of aircraft stability after removal of the two engines.
R (a) From point A, make a horizontal line : it cuts across the weight
R axis at point B.
R (b) From this point B, substract the weight of two removed engines
R 7000 kg (15432.3540 lb) approx., to get point B'.
R (c) From point A, make a vertical line: it cuts across one division
R of the "removed engine" scale at point C.
