R  (a) Before you start, we recommend that you get information from the 
R  crew about the flight conditions. 
R  (b) Make sure that you have the related aircraft Post Flight Report 
R  (PFR). 
R  (c) Do a check of all the events reported by the crew or by the PFR 
R  in addition/conjunction with this inspection. 
R  (2) If contamination occurred with the aircraft in the parking 
R  configuration, it is not necessary to do a check of the systems which 
R  are protected by the applicable protective covers/devices if you do 
R  not find ash behind them.

R  (1) Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-
R  481-001).

R  (1) Extend the flaps (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008). 
R  (2) Extend the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).

R  (1) Open the main gear doors and install the safety devices (Ref. TASK

R  A. Cleaning of the Aircraft 
R  CAUTION : DO NOT RUB THE SURFACE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE ASH FROM THE_______ 
R  AIRCRAFT. IF YOU RUB THE SURFACE, YOU CAN CAUSE 
R  EROSION/ABRASION. 
R  CAUTION : DO NOT USE FLUIDS TO REMOVE THE ASH. IF THERE IS A LAYER OF ASH_______ 
R  ON THE AIRCRAFT SURFACES, REMOVE THE ASH WITH A VACUUM CLEANER 
R  (OR, IF YOU CANNOT USE A VACUUM CLEANER, USE AN AIR BLOWER, A 
R  SOFT CLOTH OR A HAND BRUSH). FLUIDS CAN MIX WITH THE ASH AND 
R  MAKE A PASTE THAT CAN CAUSE EROSION/ABRASION. THIS PASTE CAN GO 
R  INTO AREAS THAT ARE NOT EASY TO CLEAN. 
R  (1) If there is a layer of ash on the aircraft surfaces, remove the ash 
R  with a vacuum cleaner, an air blower, a soft cloth or a soft brush. 
R  (2) Clean the aircraft internally.

 

R (3) Clean the aircraft externally (Ref. TASK 12-21-11-615-001).
